WHO: Bo Hess and Peter Petrelli
WHAT: Bo arrives in Colligo.
WHEN: 2PM
WHERE: The Grand Library, to start.
RATING: TBD (doubt it'll be too high)
STATUS: In Progress

Bo had tried to warn her family that something bad was going to happen. She had told them, time and again, about her feelings and dreams. She had said that something really awful was coming. And while they did listen - her brother especially - they had all assumed that she was simply talking about the alien invasion.

They were wrong.

Yes, seeing Morgan dying had been because of the invasion. So had knowing that their dog was going to be killed. But the rest of it - the big metal men and books without words, followed by a city that was all but destroyed - hadn't concerned the aliens at all. Bo hadn't realized it at the time, of course. She had thought, when Morgan didn't die, that maybe she'd been wrong. Maybe, just maybe, for once what she'd seen wasn't going to happen.

Unfortunately, when she found herself one minute in the yard with her family and the next in the very place she'd dreamt about, Bo knew that wasn't the case. Peering up at the stacks of books that didn't have anything written on the spines, the five-year-old gave a soft sigh that was far too old sounding for her age. She then calmly looked to the metal men that looked like something out of one of the books her brother liked to read. Her hands bunched into fists but she stood her ground as the knights began moving toward her.

"Are you taking me to the city now?" she asked in a near whisper when one finally paused, lumbering over her. He didn't respond but simply held out his hand. Bo stared at it, looked back up to him, then placed her own hand in his metallic palm. A few seconds later she found herself being left on the steps of the library, some sort of phone-like device in her grasp, staring out at the city that she'd already seen several times before at night while she slept.

With another far too heavy sigh, Bo promptly sat down on the top step, smoothed her tattered skirt across her scraped up knees, and waited for whatever was going to happen next.

Bo considered his offer as much as any small child was capable of doing. Her brow furrowed and nose scrunched up a bit as she studied him. What she was looking for was anybody's guess, really, but after a long pause she finally nodded. "Okay," she decided. "Thank you, for letting me." Her parents had always told her that manners were important and she figured, if ever there was a time to be polite, this was it.

Rising to her feet, her PDA still clutched to her chest, she turned to look at him. "Morgan always listens to me," she said. "He's my brother. My daddy doesn't listen as much since mommy died but Uncle Merrill says that's okay cause if I have a dream I just gotta tell him or Morgan." She paused and her voice dropped a little, as though she was sharing a secret. "I don't think Uncle Merrill really thinks I dream stuff but I don't tell him that."

Bo next looked back out to the city, taking in the ramshackle architecture and various signs of destruction slowly in the process of being repaired. "Did the monsters come here too?" she asked after a second. There was a tinge of fear in her voice at the mere thought of it.

"You're very welcome," Peter said with a slight nod of his head. "So, how old are you, Bo?" It seemed like something he ought to know if he was going to take care of the girl. His mind wandered back to his apartment, which thankfully wasn't a complete mess and, because it wouldn't do him any good, he didn't have any alcohol around. Hopefully he could sort out the rest as he went.

"That's good," he said. "I had an older brother, Nathan. But Nate never really listened to me about stuff like that." He shrugged. "I guess not all big brothers are good at that kind of thing. But your Uncle Merrill sounds like a good guy. At least he tries." He paused and dropped his voice to the same secretive tone. "And maybe he believes you more than you think."

"Monsters?" Peter asked, then shook his head. "No. They weren't monsters. They were aliens...these metal balls that appeared at Christmas. They were very bad, and they hurt people, but they're gone now. It may look a little scary, but it's safe here."

Holding up her hand, fingers splayed outward and palm facing Peter, she smiled. "I'm five!" she announced, clearly proud of the fact. She didn't add anything more about her brother or uncle but instead listened attentively as he explained what had happened to the city. At the mention of the word alien, she paled slightly and swallowed hard.

"It was aliens back home too," she said, shifting nervously a little. "That's what the tv called them. Morgan called them some big word that was in his book that I didn't know. But they didn't look like that." As though assuring herself that, clearly, the threat wasn't whatever had done the damage coming back but rather that whatever had done the damage wasn't the same thing that had tried to murder her entire family, Bo offered another small smile.

"My daddy said somebody saved Morgan from them. I think it was mommy."

"Five, huh?" Peter said, smiling fondly. "You're a regular grown-up aren't you?" But his thoughts were quite the opposite. She was so young, and he couldn't imagine being tht age and having powers. Even Molly and Micah were twice as old as she was. He knew Elle had her powers when she had been as young as young as Bo, but then she was the perfect example of why people shouldn't. It only led to pain and suffering. He might have only just met Bo, but he didn't want that for her.

"I bet these are different aliens," he said, mostly because she wasn't British. "I'm not saying scary things don't happen here, or that everything is good and nothing is bad, but it can be pretty nice here sometimes." He smiled slightly. "I have a niece about your age, you know. Her name's Madeline, but we all call her Maddie, and she's six. If you like, I could ask her dad if she can come visit tonight."

He listened to her and nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I bet it was," he said. "Parents will do a lot for their children, even when they aren't around any more."

At Peter's assurance that things weren't always scary at Colligo, Bo visibly relaxed a far more than she had thus far. She didn't like the monsters back home and she didn't think she'd like the ones that had been here, either. Perking up at the mention of someone close to her own age, she smiled brightly.

"I'd like that," she said sweetly. "I don't get to play with other kids, besides Morgan, very much." Not that she was complaining. She was all set to start school in the fall and knew she'd make friends and until then was perfectly content spending time with her family. Morgan didn't play very many games but at least he was someone to talk to who wasn't a grown-up.

Studying Peter for a long moment, her expression unreadable, Bo finally asked hopefully, "Can we go now? I'd like a glass of water, please."

"Well, I'll ask Maddie's dad if she can come over for the night and you two can get to know each other," he said. "I'll even make you guys some spaghetti if you want. Do you like spaghetti?" Most kids like spaghetti, but he couldn't be sure. Still it was one dish he was very good at making, the product of growing up in an Italian family. He could cook pasta like nobody's business.

"Of course we can," Peter said, pausing a moment. If she was going to witness his abilities living with him, it might be best to ease her in with the less dangerous ones. That way she would be less scared if she had to see him use a more offensive power.

"Bo," he said gently, "remember how I said dreaming wasn't the only thing I can do? Do you want to see something else?"
