This whole thing was a mess. They were somewhere new. From an orange grove, having gotten rid of Roman, to this place. A library where they'd been almost tossed out. Except for the fact that there was all of those things outside. She didn't know what they were, but they were all over, they were killing people and no amount of shooting seemed to help. So they were there, trying to hide, or figure out what to do. Of course Reese was more focused on those things outside than her own well-being. Roman had roughed her up. Not just roughed her up, and she was more worse for wear than she had let on.

But she was tough, and had ignored the fact that she was in a lot of pain. There was a limp, not that she'd been walking a bunch. She was almost glad that she didn't have to deal with Tidwell right now. Plus there was something odd going on between her and Crews. Not just that he'd killed Roman. It was more than that.

Finally wandering away from the door where she had been checking out what was outside, she hadn't noticed how much she was bleeding. There had to be something to get cleaned up with around here anyway, right? "Okay, let's get this over with," she told him when she saw him. Right. This was going to be ... weird.

Her whole body ached, all the way down to her toes. And she'd lost a bit of blood. Was there anything to wrap up the wounds in? Probably not, she didn't know. "No, I wish that it was. But this is too painful to be a dream." If it was, she would have woken up by now from the pain that she was in. And sadly she couldn't take anything for it.

"So like supernatural, magical stuff? I didn't think you believed in any of that." But then what else could it be? Reese just didn't know. "Good, because I feel like I might puke." Were they already infected? She didn't know, she just felt awful.

"We're in a bathroom. You need to puke, puke." Charlie had done all he could do, to clean the wounds anyway. He tossed the towel in the sink and stepped back.

"I think you'll be all right. Better, if we could wrap you up in a bandage, but I was lucky to find this towel." He didn't like the idea of letting the wounds go untreated. At least they were clean.

Perhaps she might, her stomach was churning. But she didn't want to puke in front of him. He'd seen her at her worse, no need to see her like this too. Slowly she hopped off the sink and sighed.

"Guess we can't do anything until we get to our new place. Which.. we should probably do. We can't stay in here forever. Those suits of armor.. are going to come back and kick us out." That was for sure. Those things were mean. For being inanimate objects.

"For now, we're staying right here." Not necessarily in the bathroom, but Charlie wasn't going to rush out in to the streets. After all he'd been through, he had a serious appreciation for life, and he wasn't looking to get himself killed just for walking outside.

He moved toward the door of the bathroom. "I'll just...I'll give you some privacy." There was no way out, other than the one door. He wasn't worried she'd try to slip out from under him. Why would she want to evade him, anyway? He frowned at himself for even thinking it.

Dani didn't really want to go out there and face those things either. Not after everything she'd just been through. A lot of her just seriously wanted to hide under the bed or something. Not that there was a bed in here. She just nodded her head a bit. "Yeah, okay."

Once he had left the bathroom, she sat back down on the side of the sink and let out a breath. It took her a couple of moments to calm down. Finally though she managed to slip her shirt back on and make herself look halfway presentable. Finally she slipped out of the bathroom and looked around. "This place is beyond weird. Do we even know where we're supposed to go from here?" It wasn't like there was a map,, was there?

Charlie shook his head. He looked over his shoulder and put a hand out to her, to give her something to hold on to. SHe looked so...not weak. Dani Reese never looked weak, but she was pale, and she wasn't walking ver fast, and it broke something in Charlie to see how Roman had beat her down, how the bastard could get to her even now, in this stange place.

"No clue. But we're not going anywhere right now." He wanted to hold her, just hold her in his arms until the world stopped pressing down on them. He'd been with women since he'd gotten out of prison, but he knew they were only attracted to his money, and he'd only been using them to get back in the swing of things. 12 years was a long time to be sitting on the side lines.

And it hadn't taken long to realise Dani was the one. She was just too stubborn to see it herself.

Reaching out, she took a hold of his hand and let herself hold onto it as she wandered over. It wasn't the physical stuff that got to her, even if she looked like crap. Mostly it had to do with the fact that he'd killed her father, and the things he'd said to her. Then he'd nearly killed Crews. The whole thing was just a little much, not to mention they were stuck in this place. Kidnapped. Again.

"Well this.. sucks. What are we going to do when we need food?" She had to ask the question. It was just that she felt claustrophobic. Because she'd been locked to a chair for days, and now she was stuck here. But she was glad that Charlie was there. She didn't know if she could handle all of this without him there beside her.

"I'm glad you're okay, for the record. If I didn't say it before. I thought he was going to kill you." And she really didn't want that to happen. Not for her. Or for anyone really.

"I thought he was going to kill me too. And when I killed him, I thought his men were going to kill me." But he trained them, so they wouldn't do anything unless he said to do it." He'd taken a huge risk, killing Roman like he did, right there in the car before they'd even gotten out of the grove. And if he had it to do over again, he'd do it, every time.

"We won't be here long." Charlie gave her hand a firm squeeze. "I'll get us out of here." He would take care of Reese, whatever he had to do. He would die, before he'd let anything happen to her now.

It was a huge risk, not that she had to tell him that. The fact that Roman's guys didn't kill him was just as amazing as the fact that Roman hadn't gotten to him first. But there was the fact. Charlie had killed someone. Not that Dani had never. And Roman had deserved it. "Are you okay though? I mean about .. everything." She felt like she should at least ask.

Reese definitely hoped that they would be able to get out of here, but she just didn't know. She squeezed his hand in return, never really letting go. Or maybe she didn't realize she was still holding onto it. "How long should we sit here and hope it all goes away?" Or worse, what if they got in?

"I don't know." Charlie put his back to a wall and sighed. "I can maybe ask someone on the message board." He hated having to ask for help, not being able to take care of Reese himself. But she needed medical attention. She needed more than water on those wounds.

Reese didn't like it anymore than he did. "Maybe that's best. Or at least ask if there's somewhere safe? Somehow to get around them? Anything really. We need to know. I can ask, if you'd rather." She wasn't thinking about medical attention, she just wanted to get the fuck out of here. This place was giving her the creeps.

"Give me your phone, I want to see something."

"Why do you want my phone?" Even as he asked the question, Charlie held out the device. He didn't think she'd throw it down and destroy it, but he had no idea why she wanted it. Sometimes, he just couldn't figure out her motivations.

"There's got to be something we can do. But I don't want to get you killed when I just got you back." His voice dropped low, as if he were revealing a secret.

Dani reached over, making a face and grabbed the phone. "I just want to see it." No she didn't want to destroy it. She just wanted to look. To see if it was now like hers. Whether it said anything at all. Maybe someone had left him a message and not her. It was possible. Doubtful, but possible.

As she looked through the phone, she finally glanced over at him. "You're not going to lose me, Crews. I swear I'm not going to do anything foolish. I don't want to get you killed either. Those things are going to get in here though and we need a plan. Like when we were in the earthquake, we need a plan."

"The plan is," Charlie started, then fell short. He didn't have a plan. He liked jumping head first into a situation without a plan. More spontaneous, that way. But this situation required a plan, if he as going to keep Dani safe.

"The plan is...to make a plan." He nodded triumphantly. "That is indeed the plan." He laughed a little, more nervous than amused. He had no idea where to even start.

Okay maybe she shouldn't have told him to come up with a plan. He wasn't the best at plans. So she was going to have to do it. Finally she was able to tell where the hell they were, compared to everyone else. She flicked through the messages and turned to him. "Okay, so. Everyone is getting to the clinic. Which isn't too far. And I think that might be our best bet."

Because she was hurt, and they had to get out of here. Except how to get from here to there. "Should I just see if someone out there can help? Maybe they have something to kill those things. Or a way for us to get over there." She paused for a moment, looking over something else and then handed back her phone. "Also? We're living together. I'm gonna ask for help. Just sit tight."

He didn't know what 'we're living together' had to do with anything, but he just nodded and let Dani take charge. She was good at that, where he failed. If they were working a case and he didn't know what to do, he'd walk away, go stand in the sun or at least somewhere quiet so he could think. Thinking to him meant thinking of nothing, but it was all the same in the end. He usually figured something out in those quiet moments.

"This is me, sitting tight," he said with a slightly boyish smile. He could be deceptively simple sometimes.

She had figured that she might as well look and see which place he was supposed to be staying. It just so happened that his number matched her number. She wandered around, typing into the phone and looking to see whether this place had a back door or something. What were the place's weak points, things like that. Those things kept whizzing by. So she barred windows and doors where she found them.

Finally she came back, and sat down beside him again. "Hopefully someone is on their way. I blocked up what I could, but I don't know how long that's going to hold. We just have to hope someone comes and leads us to safety."

"I'm sure they will," Charlie nodded. He didn't come this far, to this place wherever or whatever it was, just to die. No. He and Reese were together. They had a room assignment they hadn't even seen. They both got away from Roman. He wouldn't accept death now. "We just have to be patient."
