Who: Anyone who fancied coming to Sirius' fantastic birthday party of amazingness.
What: Sirius' fantastic birthday party of amazingness.
When: Around 11 pm tonight.
Where: Sirius' flat.
Rating/Warnings: TBD. Probably excessive drinking and swearing.
Status: In progress, open.

At Hogwarts, Sirius' birthday had always been a period of great celebration. Usually ending with multiple detentions and a severe telling off for four smirking teenage boys in McGonagall's office. After Hogwarts, there had been a war on, and most of Sirius' best friends had been fighting in a secret organization attempting to stop oppression and the dark lord. So gathering everyone together in one place to get completely and utterly bladdered had not seemed like the most intelligent plan. Now Sirius found himself stuck somewhere in between a mad teenage party spilling out into the corridors and a quiet dinner with the Potter family, Remus and Peter. And he didn't mind at all.

The front door of the flat was open, leaving room for people to file in and out as they fancied. Sirius' typical seventies punk music was piping loudly out of one corner, ready to be switched over by whoever happened to be the first to crack. There was an ridiculous amount of drink cluttering up the kitchen, several full ashtrays and a clatter of conversation from the various people who filled the room. One bedroom was firmly locked and warded, while Sirius'  own was open with a small mountain of coats spilling from the bed onto the floor. The flat was warm from having too many bodies crammed into it, even with all the windows open.

Sirius himself stood by one of the said windows, cigarette clamped between his lips, his eyes slightly blurry from the alcohol he and his drinking companion had started consuming rather early in the day. He was chuckling as he and Rose enjoyed some rather slurred conversation.

"Stop wobbling," the animagus told Rose, trying to laugh without dropping the cigarette and creating a small but dramatic house fire. Sirius' eyes narrowed as he poured two rather generous helpings of tequilla into the glasses Rose was holding. putting the bottle down on the window-sill, and taking his drink back from the blonde, plucking the cigarette from his mouth. "Cheers." The glasses clinked together, and on the count of three Sirius threw back his shot of sharp alcohol.

Rose was drunk. Actually that may be a complete understatement as she found it difficult to stand without swaying slightly so had taken to leaning against the wall. Not that she was complaining, she had spent the afternoon on some sort of pub crawl with Sirius and ended up here where the music was so insane she thought her ears would bleed. But, she would give him a chance to listen to some of it before she went insane and threw a bottle in the general direction of the sound.

But for now she had to concentrate on not dropping the glasses in her hold. Raising her eyebrow at his comment on her wobbling, she glanced at her hands to see if they were moving. Then again nearly everything was moving from time to time when she glanced at them. "I'm not wobbling." She gave him his glass with ease before grinning up at him as he clinked their glasses. "Happy birthday, gorgeous."

With that said, she copied him in throwing back the alcohol, making a face the first time it went down her throat before grinning up at him.

Sirius winced around his own shot, took note of Rose's large, drunken grin, then grabbed two chunks of lemon which had been waiting on the windowsill and pushed one quite inelegantly into her mouth. Sirius laughed, slipped his own between his lips and made an unpleasant gagging noise as the bitter taste of citrus drowned out the tequila's aftertaste.

A moment later, he thoughtfully pulled the lemon back out and flicked the rind away into a corner. The flat, in all fairness, was not as bad as it had been in previous weeks. If you ignored the brightly coloured ink splatters that decorated the walls, ceiling and furniture. Thanks to Regulus, it was dangerously close to habitable. Of course, tomorrow morning would probably be a different story, but Sirius never dwelt on things like that.

"I reckon," he announced, flinging a friendly arm around Rose's shoulders and tilting his head so it rested neatly on top of hers. Sirius continued talking, clouded eyes scanning the busy room. "I reckon this could almost beat my seventeenth birthday. Drunk-drinking-wise."

Before she knew what was happening, Sirius had shoved a bit of lemon in her mouth and she was lucky she had quick reflexes. As the taste hit her, she felt so sick that she worried she was going to just throw up there and then. But she was fine and she quickly placed what was left onto the window sill.

"I'm glad you think this will be better. Clearly, that's because I'm here."

She snuggled up against him, glancing around the room. It was busy, that was something. She needed a good party. She had just noticed two people who looked a little like police officers when a mop of brown hair caught her eyes. Grinning, she slapped Sirius' arse playfully before pulling away.

"I have an alien to entertain. You seem to have company," she said as she nodded in the direction of the two coppers. "I'll see you at some point. Not that you'll remember."

The Doctor had not felt this restless in years. He normally wasn't the type to settle down, far from it. But this... This was bad even for him. It was annoying him, making him snappy and irritable, spending hours tinkering with the TARDIS as if she wasn't already perfect. This one tiny city. So many places and times he could be in and he was here, stuck. Watching people scurry around and time just slowly drag itself from A to B.

Perhaps it would do him good to get out.

So he stood in a corner, chatting to someone he didn't know, babbling on about physics and numbers and time and space while his companion seemed lost in their own head. He didn't mind. He was speaking more for himself than them. It always helped to say things out loud. Usually the other person was more of a prop. People didn't like people who talked to themselves. It had taken him a long time to work that one out.

He turned in time to see Rose's golden head bobbing towards him, and stopped mid-sentence, offering her a crooked, wide grin through the sea of faces. "Hello!"

Rose completely ignored the person who the Doctor was talking to, who seemed to have wandered off when they realised that he had his attention on her now. At his greeting, she brightly grinned at him before throwing her arms around him, going on her tip toes and pressing her lips against his. God she was pissed. And she loved kissing him. So there, he would just have to deal with her lips on his.

"I am so happy you came."

Of course, she had only pulled her lips away to say those words before she wrapped her arms tighter around him and kissed him again. He would probably taste the alcohol, or at least the taste of lemon, on her lips but she didn't care.

"Mmmff," The Doctor managed before his words were more or less completely cut off by a blonde throwing herself at him. As much as he loved Rose, and he did. He really did, he couldn't help but notice she'd been acting a bit... odd these last few days. And this was forward even for her. Still, he let himself kiss her back for a moment, before finally slipping his hands down to brace on her upper arms and gently peel himself away.

"You taste of alcohol," he commented, wiping his tongue thoughtfully over his top lip. "And... lemon?" He frowned, both eyebrows coming down for a moment. The Doctor had long since accepted that Rose and her friend would drink themselves stupid when they were together. It was fine. It gave him time to work without her getting bored, and he knew she was having a good time. Not in a way he understood - no monsters, no puzzles and imminent death - but still. The music pumped through the room, and he found himself jumping from one foot to another.

The Doctors eyes floated over her shoulder, landing on a pregnant girl who might be the only other sober person in the room, talking to another who looked... exactly the same. Huh. He frowned again, tongue thoughtfully lodged in the corner of his cheek, and pointed them out to Rose. "Look!"

"That's because I've been out with Sirius for hours. And I just had a tequila shot. Now..."

She had surged up to kiss him again but his gaze was elsewhere. Sighing, she moved slightly so her lips rested on his neck. He wasn't always like this, but he could be. She sometimes tried to get his attention in this specific way when he was focused on something that wasn't her. And he still seemed to be focusesd on something else. She was about to nip at the skin gently when he spoke.

Sighing again, she pulled away and followed the way he was pointing. When they landed on two people who looked incredibly similar. Actually they were the same. Eyes going wide, she tilted her head slightly as she looked at them.

"I know I've be drinking but god, I've not drank so much that I can see double."
