Who: Peter Petrelli and Chris Halliwell.
What: Talking. Relationship stuff.
Where: Their apartment.
When: Yesterday, just after Claire's text [Backdated].
Rating: TBD.
Status: In progress.

Claire was getting married. It was weird just thinking about it, almost as weird as when he'd realized she was pregnant, and he kept having to remind himself she wasn't eighteen any more. Still, he was happy for her and he was glad that she and Dean were settling down. They seemed good for each other, even if he'd had some doubts about it so soon after Priestly vanished, and he wanted them both to be happy. And he'd always liked weddings, even impromptu costume weddings.

"We have plans tonight..." he said, after reading over the text a few more times to be sure it really said what it did, hoping his boyfriend wouldn't object. "And front row seats, apparently." He understood what it meant, or at least what he thought it meant. That's where family went, and it was Claire's way of reminding Chris that he counted as family. He knew it was hard for Chris sometimes, and that he missed his family, but he hoped they made being here worthwhile for him.

Peter had never actually believed any of Chris's acts, but then he knew Chris better than most people even without a handful of abilities to help him out. He rolled his eyes as his boyfriend pretended to be bothered by Max, even though Peter knew he was actually fond of the coelurosauravus. "Last minute or not," he said, "we have plans. We can stay on the couch another night. And this way we don't have to deal with trick or treaters who aren't Maddie or Ani." Because they were family and didn't count.

He tossed his phone over to Chris, so his boyfriend could see just what their plans were. "See?" he said. "Much more interesting than staying in and watching...whatever bad horror movies come on tonight, don't you think?"

The way Chris saw it, they could just divide whatever candy they had between the two - and why did Peter even bother buying candy in the first place - and then call it a night. Even five year olds knew what a sign that said 'No Candy' meant.

Chris shrugged, prepared to voice this plan of his (that probably wouldn't be followed through, because even he wasn't a grump enough to be mean to little kids in want of things to rot their teeth) when Peter tossed the phone over to him. He frowned slightly, going silent, brow raised. "Claire's getting married." He wasn't really ... surprised. He knew that Peter had been worried about Dean. Both with him being so much older than Claire and the fact that it had happened so soon after her last boyfriend. However, Chris hadn't been. The way he figured it was that a girl with enough sense, loyalty, and determination to set him straight could handle a relationship with Winchester. Chris' surprise was that it was happening so quickly. So close to Halloween.

It was a surprise that both came and went for two reasons. The first was because he was getting used to the fact that there was a family as insane as his was and as determined to stick together. Because seriously ... Halloween? Even if you didn't have his childhood or weren't as suspicious as he was, it was still a strange time to get married. The second was because of what was the following text.

"Front row seat, huh?" He asked, not looking at all at Peter.
