Noah gave a squeal of laughter and quickly scampered up the length of the bed. He did his best not to trample either of his parents but made certain to be well out of the reach of any feet that might decide to tickle him again. Grinning broadly, he bounced a bit more on his knees before finally twisting around and plopping down on his backside, his eyes shining with merriment as he gazed first at his still-sleeping mother then back to his father. "It's really back!" he exclaimed, somewhat unnecessarily but with no small amount of exuberance.
Then he paused, eyes widening as he realized something that was much more important than the sound being back. "Just a second!" he stated, sliding on his belly across Gabriel and landing smoothly on his feet on the floor. With another bright, slightly sneaky, grin he darted from the room and rushed back to his own bedroom. Snagging the homemade card he'd created for his father for his special day, Noah hugged it tightly to his chest as he headed back to his parents' room.
As he approached Gabriel he glanced once more at Elle. Part of him wanted to wait for his mom to wake up, but another part of him didn't want his dad to think he'd forgotten all about his special day. Plus, he kinda wanted to spend at least a little bit of time with his dad on his own. He loved his mom, of course, and wanted to spend the day with both of them, but it was his dad's day and Noah wanted to have at least a few minutes with just him before having to share him.
So with a sweet smile, he paused at the edge of the bed and held out the card. "Happy Father's Day, Daddy," he said quietly.
