Who: Noah, Kate and Anita Bennet.
What: Being sickeningly domestic, most likely.
When: Early Sunday morning.
Where: Their apartment.
Rating: TBD.
Status: Incomplete.

Noah was learning to turn off that part of himself that was the company man, to settle in to being an honest-to-god (Or was that honest-to-Chuck? What? He paid attention to things) family man. He had taken up a job at the university, where he would be teaching college students about Shakespeare, and he didn't even miss the danger or the craziness of his old life. He wasn't a normal guy by a long shot, spending his share of time at the shooting range and occasionally pulling heists with Parker, but it was as close as he would ever get. He didn't think he could ever live a single life, that just wasn't him, and he was pretty sure Kate knew that, but they were getting by. They were happy together and they had Anita.

It was his first time being a father to a child of his own. That didn't mean he loved Claire or Lyle any less, but there was something different about this. Plus he could see Kate in Anita's face every time she smiled, and it did strange things to his heart. He knew that he would do anything for his wife and daughter, even become a mostly-normal guy. Of course, that didn't mean he was thrilled when said daughter ran into their room at half-past five in the morning and took a running leap onto the bed. He gave a tired grumble and sat up, turning on the bedside lamp and leaning over to kiss Kate on the cheek. "We have a visitor, sweetheart."

"I made breakfast!" Anita declared proudly and Noah stared at her for a long moment, trying not to imagine the mess that was probably in the kitchen right now.

"Did you?" he asked with a smile. "Well, that's very thoughtful of you." He placed as smacking kiss on her cheek and then smiled over at Kate. "Ani made breakfast."

Noah smiled contentedly as the sound of Ani's cheerful babbling washed over him. He would never be the sort of man who could completely leave danger behind and just be normal, but he was closer than he had ever been since Kate's death. He could sleep in on a Sunday, when his daughter didn't wake him, and be content with a quiet, lazy day free of complications. It was a strange feeling, but one he really felt like he could get used to.

"Let's go see what our little chef has been up to," he said, getting to his feet and pulling on a bathrobe over his t-shirt and sleep pants. He lifted Anita up, resting her against his side even as she laughed and protested that she was a big girl and didn't need to be carried. He paused, looking at Kate. "After you," he said, with a teasing smile, gesturing for her to go first.

Grabbing her own robe as she stood, Kate tugged it on and returned Noah's smile. "Why thank you, so very much," she replied lightly, tone laced with very light sarcasm so as to keep Anita from picking up on it. The last thing she wanted was for their daughter to think they weren't pleased that she was trying to be creative. Even if, well, Kate wasn't necessarily pleased at the thought of their small child trying to fix breakfast completely unsupervised.

Yawning as she padded barefoot down the hallway, her mouth seemed to stay stuck open when she finally reached the kitchen and saw what was waiting for them. Brown eyes quickly scanned the counters for anything that might be an immediate threat, casting a glance over the various empty wrappers, containers, utensils, and various other odds and ends that Anita had apparently deemed necessary for fixing breakfast. Honestly though Kate had to admit, as she took a second look, that it wasn't as bad as she had expected.

Finally spotting what she guessed was breakfast - and was confirmed a second later by a widely grinning Anita wildly gesturing in that direction - Kate released a small, nearly inaudible sigh of relief. It wasn't as bad as she'd expected. A couple of oranges with only part of the peel missing, three bowls of cereal up to the rim with the milk dangerously close to dripping right over the sides of each, and two coffee cups with water and what looked to be coffee grounds floating at the top. All-in-all, not bad for the girl's first try, Kate had to admit. Shooting Noah a smile that was a mixture of relief and amusement, she was about to comment when Anita beat her to the punch.

"I din't go nowhere near the coffee pot or nothing!" she announced proudly, head resting lightly against Noah's shoulder as she smiled sweetly at her mother. "An' I did it all myself, too."

"I can see that," Kate agreed, moving closer to the breakfast before looking back to her husband and daughter. "This all looks very good, honey, and I'm glad you didn't go near the coffee pot or the stove. Your daddy and I don't want you getting burnt, after all." Her gaze slid from Anita to Noah, her smile a knowing one as she waited for his reaction to the 'feast' they had spread out before them.
