Lily didn't go to parties a lot. She was the shy, brainy type of girl who would rather study than have fun even in the summer. At least, that's what everyone seemed to think about her. But she wasn't her aunt Hermione, and she did like parties. She just didn't like the ones where she didn't know anyone and the music was too loud to think. But that's where she was now, for some reason that probably involved her brothers or Scorpius or both. It was usually a safe bet to blame one or all of them.

Someone had given her a drink when she got there and it had helped her to loosen up a little. A few drinks later, she was sitting outside, at the edge of the pool. There was always a pool at these kinds of parties, she thought to herself, dangling her legs into the water as she drank...whatever this was. She was probably a little drunk, but nobody needed to know that. It was quieter out here, and she liked it better inside. Even at night, it was hotter than she would have liked, and part of her was tempted to jump in the water to cool off. But she should probably finish her drink first.

She heard footsteps and tilted her head back, a smile forming on her face when she saw who it was. "Hey," she said. "Want to join me?"
