Who: The Tenth Doctor and Merlin
What: A meeting
When: Just after they introduced themselves via PDA
Where: The Tardis, in the park.
Rating: TBA

Dressed in blue pinstripes, the Doctor spread his coat out over the emerald grass, stretching his long legs before him and sitting down. He settled on top of the worn item of clothing, his back against the blue wood of the TARDIS. He could feel the energy pulsing through her, rippling through the wood. She wanted to get moving as much as he did, was just a frustrated by whatever it was that was stopping them. The Doctor couldn't remember the last time he'd spent so long in one place. He couldn't even move the blue box into another area of the city. She was just... stuck. It was as if an invisible hand was holding her down.

There was a strange whooshing sound from somewhere inside the machine, and the Doctor reached behind him to run his fingers down the painted wood, hushing his ship as one would a startled animal. He needed to figure this out... Both of him did. He didn't know when his next regeneration would return, but for the moment he was on his own, guarding a broken ship. Still, there were worse places to be stuck...

He peered out over the park, watching the colours shift in the park. The pale blue of the sky, the vivid green of the foliage and the earthy browns. He had to admit, whoever had made this synthetic world had some talent. The place was beautiful</i. And the people here... The incredible, legendary people... It made him shiver to think of it. It was incredible, but at the same time he knew he shouldn't be so impressed. They shouldn't be here. None of them should. It was all... wrong. Beautifully wrong.

His eye caught on a lone figure moving over the grass, and large, dark eyes stared in a way that was almost rude. If he wasn't mistaking, that young man was approaching him... That was strange. Why was he doing that?

"Oh good." Merlin quite liked just watching the Doctor. The man was so loud, and he didn't seem to stop moving or grinning. It was almost infectious. Merlin could hardly stop smiling either, even if he was a little nervous in the TARDIS, and with the way the Doctor kept jumping right in his face.

"It would be up to Arthur. Gwen and Morgana too." He couldn't leave them, and they were happy here for the most part. They would have to be sent home eventually, they were apparently an important part of history. Even if it was preferable here sometimes, with things not attacking them all the time.

"You could visit though, but you'd have the hide the TARDIS and that thing in your pocket that makes the noise...Probably change too. Uther is very suspicious of anything like magic, and you would attract enough attention..." He said. Sorcerers, unicorns, and knights - The Doctor would probably attract more attention then any of that.

"Swords, knights - Only one dragon...It's nothing like this. I'm Arthur's servant so I look after him, make sure he isn't killed by all the things that come after him and Camelot. Things are lots easier here, not as much to do - not as much work, I mean. The castle though - It's much nicer then anything here, and I liked going to the top of the turrets at night." Camelot was home, problems aside.

"Huh." The Doctor settled back, leaning against one of the chairs with polite interest splashed over his features. "You're right. That's not like the stories at all... No round table?" He cocked his head a little curiously, hopefully, as if history would suddenly up and rearrange itself to his specifications. But then again, Merlin was only eighteen - he was quite sure the wizard lived for an unfeasibly long time (for a human). There was plenty of time...

"I'll visit anyway," he decided. "Though... I may not have this face. You might have another me arrive. We're all pretty much the same. Ish. Well.. not really." He bounced to sit on the chair, which spun a little pointlessly, gently turning the Doctor away from his new aquiantence so he stared to the door. The Time lord spun himself back. "Uther Pendragon's Arthur's Father, yes?" He thought for a moment, and you could almost see his brain working. "Why does he he not like magic? I bet it's helpful. Is that why you're a servant at the moment?"

"There are round tables." He was confused for a minute before remembering that bit of the stories. "Oh! No, not that table. There might be eventually, but Arthur isn't even King yet. Some parts of the stories are right. Maybe later when Arthur is king, Lancelot will be a knight, and they'll have a big round table." Already he knew Arthur and Gwen cared for each other, that Gwen liked Lancelot, that Morgana would become --

"I can show you around or Arthur could. If we remembered, that is. I didn't remember this place when I went home." It seemed weird that anyone could forget someone like the Doctor or his fantastic ship, but Merlin hadn't remembered any of this place until he came back. "Yes. He used magic to have Arthur, and his wife died in exchange. It's why I couldn't help Gwen with my magic. I don't think Uther really understood what would happen, but he's hated magic ever since. He decided it was something evil. I was rewarded with the job of Arthur's manservant when I saved his life, but it's not bad. It makes it easier to protect him, and he's a good friend when he's not being a prat."

"Everyone seems to say that." The Doctor mused. "That we don't remember when we return. Isn't that odd?" He clicked his tongue once against the roof of his mouth, settling back against the console to listen to the rest of whatever Merlin had to say. It was completely against everything he heard when it came to Arthurian legends, but he had found it wasn't worth him worrying. Nothing here seemed quite right...

"Must be nice to know things work out, though," he offered, finally crossing his arms over his narrow chest. "How is Guinevere? Gwen." He corrected himself. This was confusing.
