A bit of sewing...
Who: Meg, Guy, and anyone who wants to drop by.
When: Early morning, between 7am and 9 am
Where: Apartment 109c
What: Meg is sitting on the couch sewing up the hole in her dress, Partially waiting for her roommate to show his face.
Rating: Low
Status: Complete

Meg felt bad, she felt as if she were avoiding him. All because of what Marian had told her he had done. She had been assured that he was the man she remembered. The man that been ready to give up what little he had, dignity and pride, to save her life. It wasn't right to judge him some sort of fiend just because of one indiscretion. Marian had said he wasn't himself, even if she had been scarred from the event she had been reassuring.

Essentially she hadn't really been avoiding him, she simply didn't pound on his door and announce she was there, nor did she wait up for him if he hadn't been home. Once Marian had delivered her- vacating herself after showing off the essentials- she simply bathed, dressed, and went to bed. This morning she was determined, she'd had breakfast, and now she was seated on the couch in the living-room attempting to mend the gown she'd arrived in. Taking her time doing so, so that the stitches were less than visible. She was half tempted to take it in a bit on the other side so that the gathering looked as if it were done on purpose.

She was still dressed in what she had slept in, a simple black camisole and blue and white striped cotton pants. Her hair still bore the twin braids to keep it from tangling as she slept. And every now and then she would steel glances towards the door she was sure was his.

Guy didn't know what to say. His heart had swollen slightly when he had heard what Marian had said. So she didn't blame him completely? That was something at least. And the bruises were starting to fade from his face and stomach, leaving just a yellowish tinge instead of the purple they had been a few days ago. Hopefully, soon there would be no more reminders of what had happened and they could all just get on with their lives.

"There was something in the water. A potion or something. It made people act... differently." He looked down, still feeling ashamed. "It's over now, I'm sure. I haven't heard anyone else reportng symptoms for a few weeks."

Guy looked up, raising an eyebrow as she spoke. "You're staying here?" he said disbelivingly. "With me?" He had never expected to be living with a woman, especially not Meg. It just... wasn't quite right. She was so much younger than him, and they had come a little too close to feelings for him to be entirely comfortable around her. As if living here wasn't awkward enough!

A potion in the water that made people act differently. "Differently? How so? You don't have to mince words." If someone called her demure she would have laughed in their face. She knew she was bold, and she didn't ask differently from those around her. If he wanted to be bold she wouldn't hold it against him.

His disbelief wasn't lost on her. She glanced up, avoiding the whole rest of him as best as she could, meeting his eyes. "Well it's not as if we're sleeping in the same bed. I have my room and you have yours." She couldn't help but quote Marian almost exactly. "I was told many apartments are like this..." She trailed off, pulling her gaze from his. She'd had her own doubts about it. She focused on the tip of her index finger, the bleeding had stopped and mostly dried already. She took notice of the tipped over carton between them. She bent to scoop it up. Stepping around him she opened one of the cupboards extracting a glass she poured the rest of the milk into it before she sat it on the counter beside him, careful not to touch the glass with her soiled fingers. "If you want I'll stay in my room, and only leave it when I have to." She didn't know how long she could live up to that really, she had never liked to be subdued. After a moment she ran the water, stuck her hands beneath and washed away the dried blood.

Guy didn't know how to explain without shocking her. She was a woman. You didn't talk about this sort of thing with women! He cleared his throat. "Lust," he replied in a growl, not quite meeting her eyes. "Letchery. Behaving ways that modesty would not normally allow."

Guy stepped back as she approached, moving in a circle to look at her again, keeping distance between them. "But... it isn't right. I know things are different here, but..." He shook his head. They had kissed, and now she was living with him. It just wasn't right. He frowned.

"No," he said after a moment. "That won't be necessary."

She had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from chuckling. It was odd he seemed more modest than she. And it was quite hard not to come back with something wise. "Ah and now you understand my dislike of men... Or at least most, and before we became acquainted." She watched his face, was he blushing? Surely it was a play of the light...

She had already thought about this dilemma, catching her lip it was gnawed on a touch. She couldn't help but notice he kept the space between them even as she passed. "Well if we were back home there would be only one solution to keep my reputation solid, marriage... But here? I do not feel that it is a forced thing, I don't feel like you are compromising me in the slightest." She leaned a hip against the counter as she turned to face him. "Do you? I mean of course I will have to find a church and a priest for confession, that is a given." She was pulled away before she ever felt his lips... It was a pity almost, yet it kept her cheeks in check.

She couldn't help but smile when he informed her that solitude was not the answer. "I'm glad... This wont be so bad, you'll see. I'll do what I can to stay out of your hair, what there is left of it." She couldn't help but tease. Stepping towards him she couldn't resist raising on the tips of her toes and brushing one short side with her finger tips, she had always been bold. "And it never hurts to have a woman around to do woman's work." Being so close to him, she dropped her tone to a course touch more than a whisper.

Did she mean that he had been an exception to her dislike for men? He gulped. Those hours in the dungeons with her had been eye opening for both of them apparently.

Guy listened, still frowning, as she spoke of marriage. He had learned enough of this place to know that women and men lived in close proximity, even were intimate with each other, without marriage required. There were new, amazing ways to prevent children, so there was no evidence of shame or sin. Hadn't he, himself, been with Abby without so much as worrying? And she definitely hadn't seemed adverse to the practice. He knew that was down mainly to the water, but he got the impression it wasn't new to her.

Guy caught his breath as she stepped close to him, resisting the urge to lean his cheek against her hand as she brushed his short hair. A lot about him had changed since he had been here, least of all his appearance. Everything was different here. For one, Marian was alive. However, she was also married. The guilt he had felt for kissing Meg, even as she lay dying, didn't seem justified now that Marian was alive and living with another man. Why should he feel guilty for betraying a woman who had made it clear she didn't care for him?

Guy gritted his teeth, looking down at Meg. This was going to be difficult, living with her. They had shared something back in the dungeon, and if she hadn't died, who knows what might have happened between them. Should he now resume where they left off, or pretend none of it ever happened? He wanted to nod in response to her comment, but he couldn't. Instead he just looked at her.

Indeed he had, but he had been the exception for a long while at a distance. He was handsome, sure there was quite a bit that he'd done that was purely evil, but it was a job wasn't it? She had always known he could be a good man if given the chance.

She hadn't meant to fluster him, honestly if asked she couldn't say why she had touched his hair. It was almost a need, she had to do it. To be sure he was real, to be sure it wasn't some strange dream. Slowly she withdrew her hand. "Sorry, I talk to much... You complained about that once I think." She wasn't going to apologize for being so bold, she could never apologize for being herself. Her feet flat against the floor she didn't step away just yet. She wet her lips, meeting his gaze without wavering. She wanted to say something... But couldn't think of what it could be. Maybe his half nakedness was harder to ignore than it seemed?

Guy shook his head. "At least you say what you think," Guy said after a moment, stepping back away from her and towards his bedroom door. "I believe that is seen as an impressive trait in this place." Guy had never been amazingly eloquent with explaining how he felt, and even in a place like this, he doubted it would get any easier. Still, perhaps now Meg was here she might force him to do so.

Motioning towards his door with a nod of his head, he took another step back. "I should dress, leave you in peace." In reality, he just wanted to escape. Seeing her again after months believing she was dead was all rather intense. This place was hard enough for him to fit into without the tension created by her close proximity and unwavering gaze. She definitely wasn't that easy to face early in the morning, that was for sure. "I shall see you around, I daresay." It would be hard not to now they were living together.

She wouldn't describe how she spoke her mind eloquent in the slightest. She had always been told it was a horrible trait to be so honest, so bold and outspoken... But to hear him almost praise the trait shocked her to say the very least. She couldn't respond to it, other than stare at him rather dumbly, her mouth hanging open just a little.

She nodded as he moved towards his room, she needed to dress also, she couldn't wonder around all day in what she had slept in that was sure. Though part of her knew it was for his own peace rather than hers. "I'll see you..." She finally responded as he was rescued by his own door. After a moment she moved, taking up the glass of milk she placed it in the fridge, hoping it would keep for a little bit out of it's container. She moved into the living room and gathered up her dress, to take it back into her own room.
