Who: Marian and Guy

What: Guy begging for forgiveness some more.

Marian had had the day off that day. She had been dissappointed when Robin had to go into his new job, but she was happy to have some time away from the store, away from a certain individual. It was still a bit hard to be around him. He had tried to ask forgiveness, but all she could think about was what he had done, the look in his eye as he tried to take her. She did not want to experience that again, and if that meant staying clear of him, she would do it. She understood that it was most likely the water that had done it, as far as the rest of the city had been acting as well, but still, she knew how Guy felt about her, and if that could happen then, it could happen again.

She was just finishing making herself a sandwich for lunch as she sat down in front of the television to watch one of the movies that they had given her at the library. She was starting to become amused by these moving drawings and what she had heard were called pictures.

Guy had been waiting outside Marian's building for a few hours. He wanted to make sure Robin wasn't there before going up. It was rather lucky that there was one of those cafe places just opposite the entrance. He had watched as Robin left earlier that day and had waited a while just to make sure the coast was clear. He didn't need to be apprehended today. He just wanted to apologise.

He had spent the last few days looking on the interweb thing for any tips on how to apologise to a woman. There had actually been a number of useful tips, but the one that seemed to occur most often was the one about flowers and chocolates. He didn't really see the appeal himself, but with the help of a very nice shop assistant at a very expensive shop, he had found some lovely pink roses and a box of heart shaped chocolates. She had assured him they would be the right thing.

Taking a deep breath, Guy got up, paid for the uneaten slice of lemon cake and made his way across the road to Marian's building, the box of chocolates under his arm and the flowers in his hand.

Guy still wasn't fond of the elevators in these buildings, but at least he'd learnt how to use it now. He couldn't stand still, however. Even in the small, confined lift, Guy found himself pacing. It took far too long to get to Marian's floor. He had never been here before, but he remembered her saying where she lived that first day he arrived here. That wasn't the sort of thing he'd forget in a hurry.

Guy's heart jumped as he heard the lift ping and the doors slid open. He stepped out and made his way along the corridor to Marian's door. Taking a deep breath, he knocked.

Marian paused the movie and put her sandwich down on the coffee table as she got up off the couch to make her way to the door, across the room. She had heard the knock, and wondered who it could have been to be knocking in the middle of the day, unless it was someone for Clark, in which case, he wasn't here either.

She didn't bother to look through the peephole first before opening the door, but when she saw hwho it was, she almost shut the door again. She realized that he would probably have just knocked again if she did, so she looked up at him wondering what he thought he was doing. The door, still open, but between them in case she needed to close it fast as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Guy gulped as the door opened for him. He was glad to see Marian's face and not someone else's. He gave a small, pained, almost-smile. "Marian," he said softly. He had seen the door waver and was worried for a moment she was going to close it on him. It stayed open, however.

For a moment, he had completely forgotten about the gifts but, remembering them, he cleared his throat, holding them out for her. "I wanted to give you these... to say sorry... again."
