Who: Robin and Guy
Where: Guy's Apartment
When: After Marian had fallen asleep
What: Showdown
Status/Rating: Incomplete/TBD

Robin did not kill in cold blood. He did not kill if he could help it..he preferred to deal with these peaceably. Or at least, sparing his own conscience. This, however, was not a peaceable time for the ex-outlaw. He'd one thing on his mind when he arrived at Guy's doorstep. He wanted to see the man breathe his last...

He had his reasons. The first time he'd killed Marian in front of him was enough, but Robin spared him here. Because, by some miracle, he had her back. They were happy, and he would not do anything to threaten that. It was nice to live without fighting, to have peace...but after what he'd heard hours before- after holding his wife as she cried until she had no more tears, and carrying her to bed to watch her find her only peace in sleep...it was the last straw.

It was time to finish this. Or, that was his intentions as he pounded on the man's door, his eyes fire, his expression clear- it was time to finish this.

"If you can control yourself, why did you touch her in the first place?" Or kill her at all... He still held a grudge. Perhaps he always would. "You didn't do a very good bloody job." Glare met Guy's eyes as he tried to actually defend himself.

The water? The outlaw had to scoff and roll his eyes. He had to be kidding. He hadn't been...well, he hadn't been acting differently except the dreams...and such. For an instant, those eyes studied the other man before he straightened. "What do you mean the water?"

Guy was finding it hard not to lose his temper. "There's something in the water," he said, trying to keep his voice calm. "It's making people... lust." He looked down, trying to forget the way he'd felt; out of control. "I'm not going to pretend I don't have feelings for her. But with that and the amount of water I was drinking..." He shook his head, raising his head to look at Robin again. "It's was controlling me. It was nearly impossible to stop. But I did stop, because I promised her I wouldn't hurt her again!" That was the main point. It would have been so easy to just take her and deal with the consequences later, but he wouldn't do that; not to Marian.

Lust? He stared at Guy. The man had to be joking...and yet...Robin himself had felt odd these past days. And poor Marian had to deal with his constant attentions- not that he would admit such to Guy, but it was clear there was some understanding there. If vague.

"You did hurt her. Maybe not physically, but..." He shook his head, eyes narrowing again. Robin hated this man, and yet there was a certain pity when he saw him mention Marian..knowing that the man could never had what he loved so much...even if Robin knew he would never sink so low as Gisborne had to obtain it.

Maybe that's why Marian refused to give up on him...pity. And here Robin was, wanting to hate him and beat him, and yet holding back as he understood the effects of the water- and what it might have drove him to. Had their situations been reversed...

"If you really do love her as you say....stop this." He shook his head. "She did not choose you...And had the roles been reversed, you would no doubt be saying the same to me. If you really love her, stay away until you know you can control your emotions and not let them cloud your judgments with her."

It was far from forgiveness, but it was as close as Robin would come to at the moment. "Remember this is twice I am sparing your life for what you've done to her...you dare hurt her in any way again...and I will make you wish you were dead."

"I know," Guy said, gulping hard. "And I'm sorry. It was never my intention. Even under the potion, hurting her was never a motive."

Guy gritted his teeth. "I can control myself," he said bitterly. He hated the way Hood was treating him like some kind of animal that needed to be broken. "I have controlled myself, until today. Not once have I tried anything since I have been here, until today. She is married to you, and I know that." He looked down. "She's the love of my life, but she was always yours." He hated saying it, but he had known it all along. Before he had come here, he and Robin had worked together and every now and then, until he went and said something arrogant or cheeky or downright stupid, Guy had seen what Marian might have seen it him. It was harder to accept here, now she was around him every day, but it didn't change the fact. If anything, the fact they were married merely confirmed it. Yes, he had to control himself around her, but in his right mind, he would never have presumed there was a chance. He knew it to be otherwise. For one, he didn't deserve her.

Guy glanced back up as Robin spoke. Again, anger surged at the way the other man was treating him, but he said nothing. He wasn't going to pick a fight. Not today. He would already have a black eye and fat lip to explain to Mike tomorrow. He wasn't going to add anything more.

Silence followed for a moment as Robin stared back at Guy and he saw that anger flash i his eyes. He expected some side remark or a argument or a remark, but he got nothing.

"Prove it." Two words. Robin just didn't know when to stop chastising, though it was hard for him to judge properly where his wife was concerned. "You have doe well...I'll admit, before now. And if what you say is true about the water..." Robin suspected it was considering his own actions. "That's easy to fix. My threats should be nothing to worry about, because there will be nothing to worry about. But...you will have to explain this to her. She's the one who has to forgive you...not me."

Robin really was trying to do the right thing, to push past his own hatred and give the man a chance, strangely enough. "...I should go...she fell asleep before I left"

God, the man never knew when to stop pushing! Still, Guy held his tongue, taking a deep breath instead. "I am willing to beg for her forgiveness," he murmured. He had intended on that all along. He didn't care what Hood thought of him, but he wouldn't have been able to endure being here if he thought Marian hated him too.

Guy stepped back when Robin said he should go, leaving the path to the door open. He didn't want to think of Marian falling asleep with Hood, so he blocked it out. Now wasn't the time for jealousy.

Robin did not have anything left to say, so he merely nodded and stepped past the knight, pausing in the doorway to look at him as if there was something else on his mind. Then, he looked away again and shook his head, walking out.

No. This was not about their rivalries. This was about Marian. He had done what he'd come to do...and right now, she needed him more.
