Merlin felt very proud of himself. After a week or so practicing on the skateboard he'd finally gotten pretty good at it. He could balance, keep moving, and best of all - Turn! It wasn't an easy task. He would use the board to get to and from work, practicing when he got the chance, and this afternoon he'd finally managed to turn on the board and keep going. Not without a few trips or falls. His clothes were dirty again. His first day practicing he'd ripped the knees of his jeans open and wore them again today so no to ruin another pair of pants, which resulted in the pants ripping a bit more, and his knees getting scraped and bloody.

Merlin was entirely too cheerful wandering into Building C, a plastic bag in hand, and covered in scrapes and bruises. A cut on his cheek, scrapes on his arms and palms from catching himself, dirt probably mixing into any and all bloody surface cuts, and a goofy grin on his face as he tucked the skateboard under his arm. They hurt a little, but none of the scrapes were really serious. He was prepared to take care of them himself -- until he heard a familiar voice behind him that Merlin knew meant he was in trouble for something.

"No." She said. "You just run into things that hit your face." There was a hint of sarcasm in her tone, mixed with fond exasperation. She wasn't going to argue about the helmet. However, as her eyes properly catelouged the extent of the damage, she wondered if she could talk him into knee and elbow pads. Or perhaps the wonder should have been how long it would take him to give into what she wanted him to do.

Morgana followed him into the kitchen, not bothering to look down at what he was pointing to. In fact, she really didn't notice he was pointing. She was busy trying to figure out the chances of Merlin owning a first kit. The answer was probably a big fat zero. "This is a helmet." Morgana's eyes narrowed slightly, in dubious question. "You weren't protesting that you didn't need one without knowing exactly one was, were you?"

"Only once! I - ah - tried to turn, and there was a tree..." He ran a hand through his hair lightly, embarrassed now thinking she'd seen him run straight into the tree. A helmet wouldn't have helped really with that, since the branch that nicked his cheek wasn't on top of his head. Merlin probably wouldn't be conned into owning any safety gear, and didn't really own any first aid things - hence the newly bought kid band-aids and a washcloth.

"No. The shoes, with wheels." Merlin corrected, having put a little water on the cut on his hand (disinfected enough for him, obviously), he attempted to put a band-aid on -- not as easy as he imagined one handed, never mind that it wouldn't stick while his hand was wet.
