Brooke sat on the table, in one of those awful hospital gowns. She'd had a full checkup, she'd insisted on one though the hospital had records of her last visit and according to them, everything was fine.

It was just like her boss insisting that she'd been at work the whole time. She had no idea how it worked, but since she knew the doctors couldn't have actually checked her out, she really wanted to make sure everything was okay.

That Lucas was doing good and had his pills back with - as far as they could tell - no damage done to his heart was great. As soon as she knew the baby was okay, she could relax properly.

The tech lifted her gown and placed a paper sheet over her legs. She squirted some gel on Brooke's stomach and Brooke jumped, it was cold. She reached out to take Lucas' hand, equally worried and excited.

	He smiled back at her. He was so glad that the baby was healthy. "A daughter?" he asked. Wow. They were going to have a baby girl. He smiled widely at Brooke and kissed her forehead. "Ruby Scott," he said, chuckling happily. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She couldn't stop smiling. The doctor turned the screen around, showing them the captured shot. "There she is," she said. "Wow," Brooke said. The tech tapped the keyboard and moved the wand again, showing them the baby. She was moving her arms. "Oh, wow." Brooke couldn't wait until she could feel her move. She brought his hand to her lips and kissed his knuckles.

The tech moved the wand away. "I'm gonna print you some pictures," she said. "you can pick them up on your way out."

Brooke smiled, taking the paper towels the tech was holding out to her. "Thank you," she said.

The doctor and tech left, and Brooke wiped down her stomach and got dressed. She couldn't stop smiling.

"Another Scott girl," she said, happily.

	He hugged her back. "Yeah, we are," he said, rubbing her back. "Sounds perfect," he said. "There's nothing I want more than to spend time with my family." He took her hand and led her out of the hospital. (Reply to this) (Parent)
