Who: Guy and Morgana [closed]
Where: Room 109C, Guy's room
When: Thursday afternoon
What: Guy needs to get rescued from his room
Warnings: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Guy had been sitting on his bed most of the morning. Everything had changed, again, and for a long time, he'd thought he'd moved again completely. At first, he'd tried to just ignore it, but after a few hours, that had become impossible. After that, he'd tried to find a way out. He wanted to find Marian again, but he knew that would be impossible in this completely new place. He didn't even know if she was still here, or even still alive.

Eventually, after wandering around his floor for what seemed like ages, Guy gave up and went back to his room. The little box thing that the guards had given him, and that Marian had looked at the day before, was lying beside his bed. He'd been ignoring it all night, despite the beeping that made him jump every time it went off. He wanted to keep ignoring it, but he knew it might be his only way out of here.

It took him a while to figure it out, but once he'd connected with Marian, he got the hang of it quite quickly. To his surprise, other people had started talking to him too. He actually rather enjoyed the conversations. There were two, however who were different. It didn't take long to find out why. Queen Guinevere and Morgan Le Fey, of legend, were living on the same floor as him, two doors along! He could hardly believe it; in fact, he wasn't sure if he really did believe it. But Morgan, or Morgana as she seemed to be known here, had said she was going to come and find him. If she really did, really was real, he'd have to believe it.

He put the box thing back down when he was finished using it and sat back on the bed. He was still wearing his leathers; what he'd arrive in the day before. He saw that there were other clothes there, but they looked so strange, he didn't really want to try them. He rarely took his leather off at home, anyway. They'd been fine here too.

Guy looked expectantly at the door. He would go and peer outside, but he wasn't sure what he made of this whole business yet. He still thought there must be some kind of trick to it all. And Morgan Le Fey... well, in the stories she was evil! He'd wait for her to come to him, and he always had his sword, just in case.

"Morgana," Guy repeated. It felt strange enough to be addressing someone he'd just met in such a familiar way, but especially so knowing who she was. He gave her a small twitch of his lips as she passed by him, shutting the door behind her. "I fear I will find this place hard to adapt to," he sighed, following her further into the room. For starters, he never thought he'd see the legendary Morgan Le Fey wearing clothes like that. She wasn't even wearing a dress and he was sure he could see every curve she posessed through that tunic.

"Thank you," Guy responded, trying his best not to let his eyes wander over her body any more than was entirely appropriate. "And an honour to meet you, m...Morgana." He had been going to say, my Lady, but managed to stop himelf just in time. She seemed perfectly lovely, but he wasn't going to risk making her angry; not yet, at least.

"And thank you for coming," he added, glancing back towards the door. "I thought I'd be stuck in here forever. I do not understand so much about this place." He hoped it was normal for someone as new as him to be so confused. He would hate to come across like some half wit, especially in front of her.

Morgana caught his slip but she didn't say anything. He would get used to it. If Gwen could stop calling Arthur 'sire', then he would learn to get used to how lacking in formalities the future was. It wasn't strange at all that Morgana measured things in relation to her friends. After all, she adored them. And they were the only people she spent any time with. If Gwen could do it. Then anyone could. Just like if Arthur Pendragon could learn to mellow in this time, learn to mellow at all for that matter, than there was hope for this man.

"You're welcome. I'm glad to help." Typically it was Gwen or Merlin who tended to go around, helping whoever they could. Meaning, basically everyone. However, Morgana was inclined to do so. She could be very helpful. "It is quite confusing and difficult. I must admit, I got lost more than a few times when I first arrived in this city. All it takes is a little patient and a willingness to learn; you'll be adapting in no time." She said with gentle reassurance; confidence in her tone. After all, as she had previously thought. If Arthur could do it. Anyone could. And with her instructing him, Guy would get it easily enough.

"Where would you like to start?" Morgana asked, there was a slight question in her tone. Actually giving him the option if he wanted to get down to business right away or not. "You said that your friend showed you how to work the PDA. And you seem to use it find. Would you like to start with that or something else?"

"I just can't make any sense of this place," he said with a sigh. He knew he was sounding like a whiney little child, but it all confused him so much. He would have asked Marian more the day before when she had shown him the way to his room, but he had been so in awe of the fact that she was alive here, he had completely forgotten.

"PDA?" Guy repeated, looking a little confused. "Is that the box thing?" Marian hadn't told him it's name. Just the basics of how to use it. "I worked out how to write messages and send them, but that's all I know. How much else is there?" He sounded wary. He was sure there was much more to learn about this place than he could take in all at once. He bit his lip, watching her. He walked across to the table in the corner of the room where he had put his leather gloves the night before. He wasn't cold; they were just a kind of safety mechanism, like the rest of his leather outfit. Talking about this strange place made him feel wary. He needed familiarity. He hoped Morgana couldn't see how uncomfortable he was.

"Not much." She said. "Nothing that you won't be able to get used to." She amended slightly. Morgana watched his movements, unable to help but draw some similiarties to Arthur and Uther in them. One rarely ever managed to catch uncertainty on Uther's features, unless one knew how to look. The irritation the masked, was visible. She heard the wariness in his tone and the thing that struck her as most familiar was his walking over to get his gloves. Just in that movement alone, she could envision Uther pacing until he was holding onto his throne. Or Arthur touching the hilt of his sword.

The similarties made her gave her a need to roll her eyes. Because, really. Men and there pride. Yet at the same time, despite herself, made her more sympathetic towards Guy. It was a small thing but it was enough. She knew how difficult, from experiance, how difficult for men such as they to be out of their comfort zone. And while, typically, she would have mocked it (Guy being a practiical stranger wouldn't spare him from that sharp tongue of hers) with her good mood had her feeling understanding and wanting to help put him a bit at ease. Because as much as that pride of theirs made her want to smack Arthur and certainly Uther; she wouldn't have them any other way. Well, she wouldn't have Arthur any other way. Most of the time.

"Let me show you." She said, taking out her own PDA when he returned to them room. Holding it up so he could see, she made sure that he saw what she was pressing. "If you press on this, a map of the entire city will come up." Closing the map, Morgana pressed something else. "This is the internet. It'll require more than an explanation of which button to press but it is very helpful. You can easily look up information about what you've missed very quickly on it." She explained showing him the Google website. Closing everything, she handed him her PDA. "Now try it."

Guy picked up his gloves but didn't put them on just yet. If she was going to show him the box thing, or PDA as she called it, he'd need his hands free. Instead, he tucked them inside his leather doublet as he walked back to her. He nodded when she said she'd show him, stepping slightly closer so he could look over her shoulder. If she was going to make an effort to show him what to do, the least he could do was make it easy for her.

Guy watched intently as she showed him what to do. It looked complicated, but he thought he'd pretty much got the idea of what to do. Still, he couldn't help the apprehensive look on his face as he took the PDA from her. Much slower than she had done, he pressed the proper buttons and finally got to the screen she had been at. He smiled, glancing across at her. "Like that?" he asked, showing her the screen. It must have seemed ridiculous to her, but he felt oddly proud of himself. Maybe this adapting thing wouldn't be as hard as he'd expected.

Morgana smiled in return. "Yes. Like that." Taking the PDA from him she said, "This is if you want to send a text message." She showed him where to go, "A text message is at times much quicker than a privated message on the boards. Instead of calling the person, you simply press this option and then you write out what you want to say on this, which is called a keyboard." After that, Morgana-patiently-showed him how to filter a message and any other interesting features the phone had that she thought wouldn't be too terribly confusing.

"Now. What else would you like to know how to use?" This could easily become tedious for Morgana. Showing him every little thing and how to use it; however, she herself had such a fascination with the objects of the future. She barely had a chance to share that with anyone except for Merlin, who was usually off discovering on his own.

Guy smiled slightly as she showed him how to use the PDA a little better. It didn't seem as complicated as he'd imagined. It was just a matter of remembering which button to press when. He was sure it would take him a while to get used to it completely, but he had to admit, it was helping having the incentive of trying not to look like a fool in front of Morgana.

When she had finished explaining most of what he'd need to know, he looked across at her with a shrug. "I don't know," he said with another almost smile. "What do I need to know?" He was sure there was an awful lot. "Perhaps you could show me how to get in and out of the building?" That would probably be a good place to start or he'd just stay trapped in here for ever and that wasn't a very enticing prospect.

"Everything, I'd imagine. It's not something that can be done all in one day. There are an entire liftime of things and information out there to learn and understand. I'm still finding new things to master to myself and I've been here for over sixth months." The time in the past-technically still the future in her case-certainly hadn't helped matters. She had had plans; things to do, books to read, shopping to engage in. Luckily enough, the time spent with her friends had done a lot in alleviating Morgana's irritation at being taken mid-Farenhite 451.

"We'll start with the front door." She instructed, agreed, because while she had managed the locks easily enough her first time, she knew what a nuisance that they could be. "I'll show you how to use the elevator, afterwards, and take you to the roof. The city is quite lovely from the top and it'll be easier to explain certain parts to you, if we can see it all at once. On our way to the elevator I'll show you my room. Does that work for you?" Morgana really didn't expect him to say that it didn't. After all he had asked for her instruction. However, it was polite to let him say his piece before commandeering his next few hours. Which was exactly what was going to happen.

Guy nodded. It scared him that this seemed to be a perminent thing. Even six months was such a long time. He, of all people, knew how circumstances could change even over night. So much could happen in six months. It also scared him that he might start to settle here. He didn't belong here; he shouldn't like it here. However, so far, everything that had happened was only positive. Marian was alive, a beautiful, legendary woman was showing him around and he possessed a magic box which let him talk to people far away. He was sure this place had bad points as well, but so far...he liked it. He just hoped he didn't get ripped away again just as he was settling in.

"The front door sounds like a logical place to start," he said with a small, almost smile. "And I'm sure if I knew what an elevator was, I'd be interested in learning about that too." He definitely was looking forward to seeing the city from the roof. Heights had never bothered Guy, and even though they were already quite high up, he was sure the view from the roof would be stunning. Taking a deep breath, he gave a single nod. "That does work. And I would like to thank you again. I appreciate this."

"You're welcome." Morgana said, kindly. "I'm glad that I could help. Have you been settling in alright?" She asked. "Aside for the confusing contraptions. You will come to get used to all of it." Morgana assured him. She knew that if they ever had to return home, that she would miss all of it. She felt as if she fit in this modern age. Not to mention everyone she cared for most was already here. Yes, she had forgiven Gaius enough to miss him. And Uther ... Uther would never fit in a time like this. One that had strong women and much more of an acceptance for magic. One where his kingdom was something mentioned mostly in fiction, and perhaps occassionally in the history books. Going back home. Now? After so many things had happened between the four of them, five when you included Lancelot for the time that he had been here, would be beyond cruel.

As she talked, Morgana moved to the front door. Which was closed but unlocked. Turning the lock on the door-knob to the right, making sure that Guy had full view of what she was doing, she explained her actions. "This is a door handle. Most doors in modern buildings have them. Especially in these apartments. They come in all shapes and sizes. Alot of them have knobs but there are quite a few that have levers. Where you just press it downwards to open the door." She motioned with her hand to show him what to do if he ever found a level door-handle. "They're usually a downward press. I've only encountered two so far that are an upward press." Morgana went on showing him how to work the lock on the door handle. Then how to work the other locks on the door. How to check who was outside. And explained door bells and door knockers. To be honest she would have forgotten all about door bells if she hadn't been looking up up an example of a lever door-handle and a door knocker to show him on the PDA.

Learning it hands on was by far much more fun and exciting than explaining it, but Morgana was patient, nonetheless.

"I managed to sleep last night, which I didn't think I was going to be able to, so in that respect, yes, I am settling alright." He was still on edge with the whole situation, but surely that was to be expected. "How long did it take you to feel at hom here?" he asked, following her to the door. He almost felt that he shouldn't be chatting, he should be concentrating on what she was trying to show him, but he wanted to know all about her. She was a legend after all. It was so lovely to hear her talking about things so normally.

Giving her a small smile, he turned back to the door and concentrated on what she was showing him. When she seemed to have finished and he thought he understood most of it he reached out to try the door mechanism, his arm brushing hers as he did so. A satisfied look crossed his face as he heard the little click. Pulling open the door, he gave her a little bow. "After you," he said, holding the door open for her. Now he had the reassurance of someone to show him the ropes, he was almost excited about seeing the world outside. Talking to the people on the PDA had shown him that this really could be a new start for him and he was looking forward to it.
