She didn't know what had just happened. She was in the tree with Robin, waiting for Guy to go away, then somehow she was in a room with shelves and odd looking furniture. How did she get here? She wanted Robin. She didn't know where he was and it was worrying her because the last thing she knew, she had been with him. Just as she was standing up a pair of guards came bursting through the doors trying to grab hold of her and as impressive as the fight was she put up, they overpowered her and forced her out the doors, pressing something in her hand. She didn't know what it was, but it had her name on it so she kept it in her hand as she started walking. She needed to get a footing if she were to find Robin. This place didn't look like any town she had been in before. The buildings were different.

"The year? It is 1192, and England is at war in the Holy Land. Why would you need to know the year?" The look of confusion on her face only becoming more and more present as she spoke to this man. He didn't look like a noble, so he had to have known who Robin was and that he was for the people. She wanted to find Robin and decided to take the chance.

"Do you know of Robin Hood? Can you take me to Sherwood?" She had spent the past few weeks in the forest with him and the rest of the gang. She wanted to get back to them all, especially Robin.

Woah. She was from the past. This was ... weird.

"Uh, because I come from a different time than you," he said. "The year 2008. And - uh, this place is like my time."

He swallowed and blinked. "Um, no, I can't. We can't leave here. No one's been able to find a way out."

He did a double take as something she'd said registered with him.

"Wait, Robin Hood?" he asked, blinking. "Do you know him?"

Different time? How was that possible, and nearly 1000 years into the future? "How can that be? I don't understand." She had only just started to get over the death of her father, and now she was so far in the future that every single person she ever knew was now dead, Robin also. She also couldn't believe she couldn't leave. She had gotten herself out of more gaurded places than that.

Then she saw the look on his face as she mentioned Robin's name. "Yes, I know him, very well." She had known him most of her life, and even the people she wouldn't be able to tell she was betrothed to him now, couldn't deny that fact.

He bit his lip. "I don't know, people end up here from all over the place," he said, with a little shrug.

He could tell it was really tough for her to get her head around. It was hard enough for him, and Penny, but for someone to be thrown into a completely unfamiliar society would be really weird.

But he also couldn't get over the Robin Hood thing.

"Wow. The Robin Hood? There are legends about him - people don't really know if he existed or not. So he did? Wow," he said again, really impressed.

She couldn't believe what this man was saying. There were legends of Robin known to people 1000 years in the future. What they were doing in helping people and rising against the Sheriff and Prince John was so much more than they thought. She needed to get back now to help them continue in the fight. "I cannot believe it. Legends of Robin." She shook her head a moment then looked up at the man once more.

"Yes, he did exist. I'm Marian, and he was my betrothed." That was of course before she came to be there. She wanted to go home, now more than ever.

	He nodded. "Yeah. Lots of them. He stole from the rich and gave to the poor - it's redistribution of wealth at it's most basic level. Fighting the system, undermining it... It's... it's inspiring." So what Robin and his gang were doing had been remebered for a thousand years, and it was remembered in the right way. That was comforting. She smiled at the man, "Yes, that is exactly what he does."

Then she heard what he was calling her. She was in the legends as well? Interesting. "Maid Marian? Not quite. I am Lady Marian of Knighton." She may want to help the poor in any way she could, but she was still a lady, not a maid. "Can you tell me what this is?" Again pointing at the PDA in her hand. She had asked before, but he had gotten distracted by where she had come from and the fact she knew Robin.

"Oh, yeah, I know. I mean, it varies on the legend, but most of them say she- uh, you- are a lady. The title is Maid as in - uh - maiden," he said.

He realised he'd been rambling again. He should focus. "Right," he said, reaching for the PDA and showing her how to turn it on. "It's - um - a machine, called a computer," he said.

"You're probably gonna find it strange, but a lot of things have been invented since your time."

"You can use this to send messages to other people. You can also use it to talk to someone else who has one..."

	Marian's lips curled up into a smile as he showed her how to use the PDA. She nodded, "Thank you, and yes, it is all strange to me right now." Then the PDA made a sound and she jumped the tiniest bit, but only because it was a sound she'd never heard before. A message was coming up. She showed it to the man. "Housing assignment?" 	She had heard of the sciences, and new things were being invented in the east all the time. She held up the PDA. "So you could build something like this?" That would almost be like magic to her, but she realizes the how time changes everything. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
