Billy shrugged off his coat when they stepped into Penny's apartment. They'd spent the day at the shelter, giving out food and donated gifts to the homeless.

He'd spent most of it watching her. She was clearly so happy when she was helping others. It made her look even more amazing than usual.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small package. He took his time hanging up his coat, he was kind of nervous about the gift. It was probably kind of stupid and maybe she wouldn't even like it but he'd wanted to get her something

He turned around to her eventually, clearing his throat and blinking. "Uh, I got you something," he mumbled, holding out the package to her. "It's just something small," he added.

"Yeah, tea would be great, thanks," he said, making his way to the couch and sitting down.

He was getting a little more comfortable being around her. Which was really a good thing. Okay, he still found it hard to breathe when she came close, maybe even more than before since she'd kissed him.

It replayed in his head then, as it always did when he thought about it. And sometimes when he wasn't even thinking about it. He smiled automatically, glancing down.

	He smiled slightly. "Yeah," he said. He wished he could do something more though, something bigger. He did feel like he was treating a symptom. Of course, here that would be even tougher than back home, because wherever they were, this whole city was messed up. "Hey, it was much better than spending today alone, so..." he trailed off. His smile turned kind of bashful and he glanced down at his knees as he felt his cheeks flush. "Uh, thanks," he mumbled.

That was the second time since they got here she'd kissed his cheek. She was definitely doing it more often. And that was completely random, there was no reason for it.

He wasn't complaining, or anything. God, no. But... He couldn't help noticing it. That, maybe, she was touching him more now. Since the kiss. He wondered if that meant anything.

It probably didn't, and she was only being friendly. But, he couldn't help hoping it did mean something.

He took a deep breath and blinked before he looked up at her. "Uh, you too," he blurted. "You've a great smile."

He loved her eyes. So green. So beautiful.

He wanted to reach out and stroke her cheek, tuck some of her hair behind her ear, and...

He blinked, pulling himself back to reality. She'd caught him staring, and probably thought he was being super creepy.

He looked away, disentangling his fingers from hers because his hands were starting to feel kind of clammy.

"Uh, this is good tea," he said, wincing slightly at how stupid that sounded.

	She was a little disappointed when he looked away and let go of her hand. He was so hard to read and she had no idea if he liked her or not. Sometimes she got the impression he did, but times like that, she thought maybe he was just being nice to her, a friend. "Yes, it is," she said, looking down. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He nodded. "Yeah, it was great."

He wanted to reach down and lift her head up, like she'd done with him, but he wasn't sure he could do that without doing something stupid like kissing her. And he really shouldn't kiss her.

He reached out again and gave her hand a squeeze.

"Really great," he added.

He got to his feet. "Uh, I guess I'll see you around," he said.

	She looked over at him when he squeezed her hand. She smiled at him. "Yes, I'll see you around," she said, standing up and walking with him to the door. She gave him a quick hug. "Thank you again for today," she said, stepping back. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He let his hand rest on her back for a couple of seconds when she hugged him.

He was slightly dazed when she stepped back.

"Oh, I was happy to help," he said, waving his hand slightly.

He reached for the door handle, really wishing he could just stay and... hug her again, or something. But if he did stay he would probably hug her or something, so he should go before he acted like even more of an idiot.

"See ya," he said, as he stepped out of the apartment.
