WHO: Penny and Billy, CLOSED
WHAT: Laundry day
WHEN: Wednesday Evening
WHERE: The Laundromat
RATING: G

Penny walked into the laundromat with a basket of clothes.

She didn't have a whole lot of clothes here and it was Wednesday. She was wearing a Santa hat on her head, trying to get into the festive mood.

She sorted her clothes into piles and started to put them into different machines. She'd brought a book with her to read while she waited.

She did glance around to see if Billy was there and was a little disappointed when he wasn't.

"Ten, if that's okay," she said, softly.

Her machines stopped and she walked over to take the clothes out and put them in the drier.

Once she had the driers on she walked back over to him.

"Perfect," he said.

She moved away to sort out her laundry and he glanced around, shoving his hands in his pockets so they wouldn't fly out and touch her hair again.

They'd decorated the little laundromat kind of haphazardly. There was a battered looking plastic tree in the corner with one string of tinsel and two baubles hanging from it. Some more tinsel hung in random places around the room. And there was mistletoe on the ceiling over his head-

He stared up, eyes bugging. He was standing under mistletoe. Oh, God, he should move. He should move right now.

But Penny was walking back over to him and he had absolutely no hope of moving without looking like an idiot.

Plan B, play it cool. He'd just hope she wouldn't notice it.

He smiled at her, and opened his mouth to say something that would distract her.

"Hmmurmple."

Balls.

She missed at him when she walked back over, noticing he'd been looking up at the ceiling.

She looked up and noticed the mistletoe. She looked back at him and smiled.

"Mistletoe," she said, softly. She stepped closer to him and gently brushed her lips against his, giving him a soft, chaste kiss.

"Merry Christmas Billy," she said, smiling at him as she stepped back.

He swallowed, his mouth feeling dry all of a sudden.

She kissed him.

It was soft and quick and completely innocent, but it was also completely amazing.

He didn't realise he'd closed his eyes until she'd stepped back.

He opened them, feeling completely stunned. His cheeks felt warm, he was obviously blushing. He blinked, squeezing his eyes shut tight and trying to pull himself together.

"Uh, Merry Christmas," he replied, smiling nervously.

She smiled at him. His lips had felt so soft when she'd kissed them.

She looked at the drier, seeing if her clothes were dry.

She'd kissed him.

She'd kissed him.

He was still standing there, staring blankly ahead. He blinked a couple of times.

Right. His clothes. They were done, he moved them to a drier, glad to have something to focus on for a little while.

He couldn't stop a smile spreading across his face as he loaded the drier though.

She'd kissed him.

Her clothes weren't quite done yet. She leaned against the counter and looked over at him. He looked happy and it was nice to see him smile.

He started the drier and turned back around to her.

He shoved his hands in his pocket and glanced over at her.

A little part of him had always worried that if he got to know her she'd be less ... perfect than she seemed. But oh, wow, she was so incredible. Even more amazing than he'd thought.

She was so amazing. And the kiss - he could still feel her lips on his.

He wanted to do it again. But he couldn't. Could he? It was an innocent kiss, because of the mistletoe. She probably didn't mean it like that.

She smiled at him. She wanted to kiss him again but wasn't sure if she should. She didn't know if he liked her or was just being nice to her.

He smiled back nervously. She really was so incredible.

He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Uh, so do you want to meet at the shelter Friday?" he asked, blinking as he looked over at her.

"Yes, that would be great," she said.

She checked the drier and her clothes were done. She took them out and started to fold them to put them in her basket.

He still couldn't believe she'd kissed him.

"Okay," he said.

He wondered would they have mistletoe at the shelter.

She finished folding her clothes and smiled at him as she took the basket in her hand.

"I should go. It was really nice seeing you again."

He nodded.

"Yeah, it was," he said, smiling. It was way more than nice.

"I'll see you Friday," he said.
