Who: Wyatt Halliwell and Merlin
What: Helping Merlin with a spell
When: Just after this
Where: Merlin's Apartment
Warnings: PG, I think

Wyatt was worried. He had left his new charge for a couple of days so he could get his head around what he was there for, and he gets hurt. Great. He didn't waste any time orbing over to Merlin's apartment as soon as he found out where that was. With the bright blue lights that come with orbing, he appeared in the living area of Merlin's apartment, next to him, and immediately placed his hands just over the burned parts of Merlin's hand and leg so he would be able to heal them. A golden light shined out of his hands, and within seconds Merlin was good as new.

"Ok, so you tried the reversal? Did it work, because I think I forgot something in how you're supposed to do it." As he looked around the room to see the damage. Yep. It looked like the attic after a demon attack.

Aparently he had shown off a bit too much, but then in his world, this was commonplace in his family. Orbing, and healing was normal, he forgot that other magical beings might not have seen any of that before. When he was asked how he did it and if he could teach him, his expression changed from the working expression on helping Merlin reverse his magic to one of reluctance and apology.

"The healing and the orbing? Those are kind of a whitelighter thing. I can't really teach you that, but I can teach you how to teleport using potions, if you'd like that." Then he tried to get Merlin's head back into the reason he had come in the first place. "The spell that backfired. Can you write it down on a piece of paper for me? I think we can reverse it that way. Then, maybe we can fix the damage to the place."

"Oh," He was obviously a little disappointed. Not that it would keep him from trying it on his own. Merlin was clearly not adverse to experimenting with his magic, even if it did have adverse effects now and then. The fire breathing cat in a little stone cage a few feet away, case in point. Still, teleporting with potions was a start. "Sure, okay. Spell?"

It took a minute for him to move on from the orbing, and get back on track. Writing the spell down would reverse it? His magic seemed different from Wyatt's, which wasn't surprising really, but he was starting to get jealous. Everyone else seemed to have it easier then he did, but that could be his imagination. He found a scrap of paper and scrawled the Old English word on it, handing the paper to Wyatt.

"Here you go." He was more concerned about his kitten then the damage to the place. That was an easy fix. Merlin glanced down into the stone 'play pen' watching the small cat sneeze fire in its sleep. Which was kind of adorable in a way, he'd admit.

He could see the dissappointment in Merlin's face. Obviously he wanted to learn everything that he could, and Wyatt definitely wanted to help with that. "Yeah, whitelighters can orb so they're there when thier charges need them, and they can heal to protect them. Every witch has different things they can do specifically though, active powers. Maybe you have one, it just hasn't surfaced yet."

He was going to have to take it easy with Merlin on the things he could do, though. He looked at the paper with the old english word on it, then handed it back to him. "You should do it, so you'll remember it better. Just have that in hand, say the spell I sent you on the network, and then light the paper on fire. That should work."Then he took a step back from Merlin with a small smile on his face, trying to reassure to Merlin that it would work and that he could do it.

"I have been able to slow or stop time, and move things just by thinking about it since I was little." Merlin offered, not sure what the difference was between active powers and everything else he could do. No matter, he'd learn everything in time. He was supposed to become pretty powerful in the future, right? Who was to say he wouldn't find some way of his own to appear places?

He took the paper back, still a little skeptical on how well Wyatt's reversal spell would work, but did what he was told anyways. The paper sparked and burst into flame in his hand, and he promptly dropped it into the kitchen sink. He didn't need any more burns tonight, even if Wyatt could heal them.

"I guess I have to see if it worked." He was hoping it did because waking the kitten up if it didn't was not going to be fun. Merlin leaned down to pet the small cat, waking it up, and while the feline meowed and hissed -- not pleased with being woken -- there was no fire coming out its little mouth. "No fire!"

Merlin smiled up at the other male cheerfully. So maybe having a whitelighter friend/guardian wouldn't be so bad after all. It was certainly better then trying to figure out how to fix his messed up magic on his own.

Wyatt smiled when it worked as well. He hadn't even been sure his magic would work for Merlin since they were from different places, and magic used to be a completely different thing in his world. He had hoped there was a reason he had been assigned to Merlin, that he could, in fact, help him.

"Okay. Now about the mess. Let's see if this works : Let the object of objection become but a dream, as I cause the scene to be unseen." Just as he finished the words, all of what was damaged came right back to what it had been before and looked perfectly normal. "Handy, huh? It's been great to help with cleaning up in my world after a demon attack. You good now? Or want me to stay?"

Merlin was a constant in most magical worlds, even if the stories were different, but the same basic idea. He wondered if this had something to do with the fact that the magic of the different realities seemed to work for him. He made a note to write down little couplet for later because it would make clean up back in Camelot so much easier after whatever attack.

"I'll have to remember that. Thank you for your help." He smiled. Merlin did plan on going to see Severus, he'd let himself get distracted from that too long now. He did want to give Wyatt another chance though. Their first chat had just sort of explaining things. Merlin was more interested in actually befriending him now. "I have to see a friend in the hospital, but -- I would like to talk more later."

Wyatt nodded as he spoke about his friend in the hospital. He understood being there for a friend in need. "Yeah, sounds like a plan. Just let me know." He put his hand on Merlin's shoulder as if to say a friendly goodbye. "See ya." And with that, he orbed back to his apartment, feeling as if he accomplished something and that he may have actually won over his charge.
