Night In

Brooke was celebrating getting paid - just a little of her paycheck, advanced so she could buy food for next week. Her new bosses were great.

At least that was something. Though, the longer she spent here the more she was getting used to it. In some ways, it was kinda like New York, but in some ways here feels more like home than New York had.

She bought a bottle of wine on her way home, and beer for Lucas. She dropped everything else at her place and knocked on Lucas' door.

	She grinned as she opened her wine. "No, but I do get a pretty sweet discount, so you're gonna have to come to the store when you're buying more clothes." "I missed you too," she said, smiling.

It did feel good, just sitting around with him talking. If she didn't think about where they were, it would actually be kinda perfect. Reconnecting with him was good.

She was having so much fun that she was a little over halfway through the bottle of wine when she remembered what she'd brought for him.

"Oh, I forgot!" she said. "I have a thing for you."

She got to her feet, pausing for a second because Lucas' apartment was moving. She grabbed the thin box from the bag she'd carried in and brought it back to the couch.

"Here," she said. "I didn't wrap it, but it's for you."

	She hugged him back, and then wobbled a little, and then they were both falling onto the couch. She giggled. "You can put Jamie and Lily in there." She paused, and giggled again.
