Who: Needy Lesnicki, Lucas Scott, and Castiel
What: Needy's out and exploring. She's only been there a week, after all.
When: Monday evening.
Where: A street with lots of shops.
Rating: TBD.

NOTE!: Okay. From what I can tell, the three of us are usually on at different times. So just for this one thread I'm doing something unusual for me and saying "To hell with the posting order." :)

It had been just over a week since Needy had first shown up in this weird little world and she still wasn't sure what to think of it. The city itself seemed nice enough. In fact, it reminded her of a trip she took with her mom to Boston once upon a time, long before all of the shit hit the fan with Jennifer and the demon. Or, well, Jennifer the demon. It just depended on how you looked at it.

But one thing Needy found weird was that the people here, most of them didn't seem all that phased by this place. Everyone that used the PDAs was brought here from other worlds and it was like they had just accepted this place. Granted, it seemed like the options consisted of "get over it" or "drive everyone nuts by whining constantly." They all seemed to agree that there was no surefire way home.

So she decided it was about time she went out and explored some more. So far, Needy had already put a dent in that hundred dollars she had been given upon arriving due to buying things like food and clothes, so she should probably work out a way to get more money. Maybe a job or something. If nothing else she needed to start learning the layout of this city. And that was what had made her wander down to a street that seemed to have almost nothing but shopping.

Her hood was pulled up over her head as she walked, a habit she formed after escaping the asylum thanks to not wanting to get caught, but whenever she went into a store to ask if they were hiring she'd always pull it down. She didn't need to look skeezy when trying to get work. But after the fifth store she went into said no, they weren't hiring, Needy went back to the street with a sigh and pulled the hood back into place.

Castiel paused. The war had narrowed his focus rather too much he was beginning to realise. He was so used to fighting one very specific kind of fight, was used to an enemy that worked a certain way. He did not consider this may have been normal for her world.

He mentally berated himself, but not too harshly. He was made for a specific purpose, not for this place. Everything else had to be learnt and it was slow, his education patchy.

He calmed at her words, at her manner. He forced himself to listen to her words and adjust his thinking.
He stopped, all his anger and worry faded.
"I am sorry you lost your friend," he said sincerely.
"I cannot imagine it would be an easy thing to have to do." Castiel had been ordered to kill a friend, after all. He knew exactly how that had felt. Only he was lucky. She had escaped him. He was glad for it.

"Your powers are what I sensed," his voice was calm, reasonable. "They origin. It is not like anything I have heard of or experienced but I accept you are not a demon." He look her in the eyes. "I owe you an apology."

Needy went back to standing with her arms crossed once more and gave him a shrug. "Yeah, it was hard losing her. Harder being he one to have to kill her, but it was either that or let her kill more people." And even though Needy and Jennifer had been best friends since the sandbox, which Needy called "sandbox love", she couldn't just sit by and watch her best friend kill people.

"I wasn't exactly expecting to get them. Where I'm from demons are rare, and people who survive being bitten are even more rare. The demon usually just kills them and eats them. But anyway, yeah. Apology accepted and all that." She paused for a moment, holding the eye contact.

"You're seriously an angel?"

He nodded, again acknowledging her pain.

"Demons used to be rare in my world too," he said soberly. "That has changed recently. They kind I am accustomed to do not generally bite and they are hard to kill, except for the vampires. They are a low-level demon that can be killed my humans. They also bite to pass on their powers or to feed but they cannot transfer their powers and not their affliction."

He was accustomed to her next question. Had come to expect it.
"I am. I can provide proof if you wish."

"You know," Needy started, watching Castiel carefully. She made sure to wipe all traces of the hurt she still felt over what she did to Jennifer from her face. "Yeah. I think I'll take that proof."

After all, without proof he was just some weird ass guy that managed to know there was something different about her. Which, okay, that in itself was pretty weird. She hadn't come across anyone else that could tell she was more than your average bear, but that was beside the point.

The guy wasn't just saying he was different, he was saying he was a flat out angel. That was weird.

Castiel nodded He stood back a little, spread his hands and affected a concentrated expression. Lighting flashed though it was far too cold and cloudless for a thunder storm.

The wings stretched out from his shoulders, rose up before they stretched fully. They were black, mere shadows and they blinked out on a second. Once they were gone Castiel relaxed again, a little.

He looked at Needy, waiting to see if that was enough.
