The pre-World War III 21st Century had so many breakthroughs and turning points in both technology and culture that led to both the war and the steps taken after it that led to the formation of the Federation, but that'd be more Pop Culture than History." He thought about it for a second before answering, "Early American History. Colonial times. Which probably means nothing to you."
He wasn't sure how much Gaila knew about Earth History, but wouldn't be surprised if she'd never heard the name George Washington before. It wasn't exactly something that was taught at the Academy, as most Human students learned those details in school growing up before they stepped foot in San Fransisco.
