WHO: Elle Bishop and Gabriel Gray.
WHAT: Just normal domesticness with two not-so-normal people.
WHEN: Evening.
WHERE: Their apartment.
RATING: Probably G or PG.
STATUS: In Progress.

Elle had been keeping to herself. The idea that there was someone around who wanted to kill people with abilities didn't sit well with her, but she wasn't about to confront Danko. She had more than just herself to think about, after all. She was pregnant and that meant that she couldn't take the risks she had in the past. So, she'd avoided calling attention to herself, and mostly avoided the PDA in general. It wasn't in her nature to keep her head down and it felt uncomfortable, like a suit that didn't fit right. She was pretty sure if she looked at the PDA, she'd end up biting some idiot's head off...and Claire would probably make a disapproving face and she'd feel bad because of hormones, and that just wasn't fair!

She had a job. In an office. A disgustingly normal job that involved filing and most definitely didn't involve chasing bad guys or shooting people or anything like that. A job that involved a girl named Chrissy offering to throw a baby shower and touching her stomach. What the hell was it about being pregnant that made people think they could just touch you whenever they pleased? She'd come so close to electrocuting the girl. Which probably would have gotten her fired. But at least she could come home at night and see Gabriel, and that made it all worthwhile. Noah was out with Emma this evening, and the woman who lived with them was elsewhere, so it was just the two of them. "I swear," she said, conversationally, "if anyone else touches my stomach without permission? I'm breaking their fingers." And she meant it.

"I think that qualifies as assault, Elle," Gabriel said, unable to keep the amusement out of his voice as he stepped in behind her, settling his hands lightly on her shoulders. "I think zapping them would be a better idea. At least nobody would take them saying you shot lightening out of your hands seriously," He said with a smirk as he leaned forward, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

"People are just excited for you," He said. "They could certainly show it in a more appropriate way, but that's all it is. I know you can tell them to step off without the violence if you really try. It's not nearly as fun, but you can do it."

"I think touching me without permission counts as really fricking stupid," Elle countered with a sigh, leaning back against Gabriel. "Killing them would practically be social darwinism...survival of the least idiotic and all." She grinned. "I'm being good and not using my ability to deal with normal people. Don't want to draw undue attention to myself and all." She grinned in spite of herself at the affection, turning to look up at Gabriel.

"They can be excited at a distance," she said petulantly, but smiled nevertheless. "I guess I'll just have to satisfy myself with scathing comments," she agreed after a moment. "So, how was your day, dear?" Equal parts sarcasm and honest affection in a way only she could pull off.

"Nobody can do scathing quite like you," He said, shifting his arms down and curling them loosely about her waist as he contemplated her question, trying to come up with some sort of answer. He couldn't say that he'd done much of anything out of the ordinary. Danko had been unusually quiet lately, and things had settled right back down into their normality after Barbas had been driven out. So, basically, he'd just spent a rather content day here working on trying to get the apartment set up for their new arrival.

"Oh, same old, same old," Gabriel said after a moment, a playful smile dancing on his features as he chuckled to himself. They really were on that road right to normal, weren't they? Part of him wasn't completely sure that he liked the idea of that, but the much larger part of him told that smaller part to shut up as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the bridge of her nose. "Good old Dullsville."

"It's a natural talent," Elle agreed with a laugh. "You can't just learn it." What could she say? She was really good at scathing. She was comfortable just standing here with Gabriel, arms draped loosely around his neck. It was domestic in a way that would have made her uncomfortable even a few months ago, but she had settled into a comfortable life with Gabriel and Noah. And soon they'd be adding to that. It wasn't anything she had ever expected having in her life, but she was honestly happy. What more could she possibly want?

"I never thought we'd actually be at a point when we could have a 'same old, same old'," she mused, "but I like it. I really like it." She grinned, eyes crossing a little as he kissed her nose. "Dullsville isn't as bad as I used to think it would be." She leaned up and kissed him, then tilted her head to the side, considering something. "So...I've been thinking about names." She thought a lot about things like that lately.

"Come up with anything?" Gabriel asked, smiling as he gently caressed her belly before kissing her forehead and gently leading her over to the couch. They could stand around, but Elle had probably been up and down on her feet all day, dealing with massive amounts of stupid like a trooper. She needed the opportunity to relax, and he wanted the opportunity to pamper her like she deserved to be. Settling down on the couch, leaning back against the arm as he gently pulling her down next to him, Gabriel settled his hands on her back, massaging the tension out of her muscles.

He would have liked his mother's name to be at least part of the name, but he knew that Elle might not be completely comfortable with that. Maybe. It was something that they needed to talk about, but he didn't want to just throw this into the conversation.

"I did," Elle said hesitantly. She wasn't sure how to bring up what she'd been thinking. She didn't know if it was a good idea or the worst possible, but it was something she really wanted to do. She smiled as he kissed her forehead, letting him distract her for the moment. She liked having quiet moments with Gabriel, and she felt like they didn't get them nearly often enough. She settled next to him on the couch, giving a contented sigh at the movements of his hands against her back.

"You're good at that," she said softly, then reminded herself about the topic they were currently discussing. She considered it a moment. "Well...Noah was named for our fathers...well...father figure in your case...in that future. And...obviously, this one is a girl, so-" She trailed off. "My mother's name was Madeline. I never really knew her, but she was my mother and," she looked up at him and smiled nervously, "I was thinking...Virginia Madeline...maybe...if you don't mind, I mean. I know you loved your mother, and I want her to be a part of our daughter's life."
