Whatever reaction Molly had been expecting, that certainly wasn't it. Granted it wasn't overly odd, necessarily, but something about the way he said 'Father' didn't bring an image of a dad as she thought of one, to mind. Especially when you added in things like 'my charge' as someone else he knew.
Still, Molly wasn't one to jump to conclusions. Or at least wasn't going to jump to conclusions and verbalize that fact right off the bat. No, she much more preferred to think things over a bit before commenting. Sometimes the answers became obvious before she even said a word.
"I don't know Dean," she said instead. Her smile faltered a bit as she added, "But... his brother's not here anymore." Which, okay. That probably sounded a little odd, especially when she said it in such a matter-of-fact way, but it was the truth. Sam Winchester was no longer in Colligo... or at least was no longer alive in Colligo. Molly was absolutely certain of that fact.
