Everything looked different now. This place used to be a prison, now it was a blessing. Even the concrete walls that marked where trees and grass should have been were suddenly allies.
The almost smiled, his steps a little lighter. Anyone who knew him may actually think there was something wrong with him. But he didn't meet anyone he knew.
He had taken to walking around the city, something he had rarely done before, mostly because it had depressed him.
One thing he noticed was that there were very few children. It was curious. There were, of course, the "fake" children that came with the city but he had yet to see a real child, until now.
It was enough to peak his curiosity. He knew very well that being here meant being trapped a long way from home. Normally Castiel would not take much interest in the people he found dotted around the city but this was a child and children were most special to God and most in need of protection.
She appeared to be alone which was a concern in this place (though, now that his Father was here, it would have to improve). Castiel moved closer. He noticed her eyes were closed and he spoke softly so he wouldn't scare her.
"It is beautiful today." His head was tilted to the sun.
