Having a job lined up put back a little more normalcy. Since arriving in Colligo, he'd gotten into a fight with mobile suits of armor, nearly had his heart torn out by demons that caused the entire city to go silent, and had been woken up by someone that existed as a hallucination thanks to that fear demon. Sticking it to a corrupt bank manager while liberating some funds for the displaced sounded like a damn good idea to him.

Even though Alice had disappeared, giving him free reign of the living room to use, he still headed towards the gym. The later hour, it was quiet, less traffic in and out. Quiet enough that the loudest noise he could hear was the thump of his fist against the punching bag. The first hits had been the hardest, working off the annoyance that had come with the demon pulling what bothered him the most out of his mind and using it against him, the loss of that control. It felt good.

When he heard the door open, he paused to grab his water bottle, glancing casually towards the door.

She had never meant to head towards the gym, but she seriously needed some anger management classes. This was the closest thing to not ripping off some idiots head. Thinking took a lot out of her as well as self control so she did what she could to pass time.

Stretching she tried to take deep breaths and when she looked up she was startled. Forgetting to breathe she gasped and blushed slightly. Her first thought was that the she should have looked up upon entering, her next though was she should say something.

"Hi" It was all she could muster to say. So far she had only seen one person and that was a gravedigger. She looked down again after realizing she was staring, cursing under her breath she waited silently.

He'd thought she was going to go about her own business, unconcerned with not being acknowledged. Turning back towards the bag, he was getting ready to go another round when he heard her voice. From the way she reacted, it looked like her mind had been elsewhere and she'd just realized he was there.

"Hey," he replied. He waited when she didn't move and that awkward silence fell. "Something I can help you with?"

She wasn't sure what to do next, part of her was curious the other terrified. He looked like he had wanted to be left alone, she kind of wanted to flee the room. "No, just thought I was the only one here. You're the only person I have seen since I arrived a week ago." It was all she could muster to say.

It had been a very long time since she worked out, and although it wasn't the feeling she wanted she had to accept it. While she was waiting for his next approach or non approach, she lifted her leg holding it above her head. Few moments later she released a little anger one kick to the next until it felt like her head was spinning.

"It's usually quiet here at night." He stepped away from the bag, eyebrow arching. "The only person? You must be staying cooped up in your room." If she had arrived in Colligo, that made her one of them, collected. Staying in the apartments, he'd found it was hard not to run into someone.

It didn't matter to him one way or the other if he was sharing the gym space with someone else. It was a public area. She almost seemed uncomfortable or uncertain, which was no intention of his.

"Loosen up some. The movements will flow better," he suggested as he turned his attention back to the bag.

" Actually I am out a lot at night." She wasn't sure if he was trying to be friendly but he sounded like it. All I have seen is chaos and no one to talk to, friendly place huh?

She smiled trying very hard to be warming. She didn't want to frighten him away by any means. Human company she had longed for and missed dearly.

Glaring at his advise she nodded her head. "It has been a while normally I'm physical in other ways." Slowing her motions she made them smoother and relaxed. After a while she shifted back to watch him.

"Get picked up by some faceless entity and dumped in a city you can't escape? Friendly was left at the door," he replied. There had been days, a week here or there, where it had been quiet, a nice break. Then all hell would break loose again. "You get used to it."

He blew a sweaty strand of hair out of his face, nodding. "Better to keep loose then. Don't want to hurt yourself." Once she was back at it, he started through a series of crosses and jabs, then put out a hand to steady the bag.

"Waiting to use this?" he asked, indicating the bag with a tilt of his head.

"The city people seem pretty nice, it's the collected that bother me. You seem to be the nicest." She noticed that the city was getting quiet and that must be nice for the normals.

She smirked sweat running down her back making her feel better. "I'll keep that in mind." She couldn't help but try to be playful it was her nature. After she watched him for a while she noticed he was talking to her and a chill went down her spine.

"No, you go ahead and finish I was just trying to kick someones head off their shoulders." The fact that it was her own she kept to herself.

The remark made Eliot smile slightly. If the kid had an idea of who she was standing next to, she might not have been so quick to think that. But she didn't and there had been some conversation between the two of them, so he could've qualified. "You do need to go roaming around some more," he said, shaking his head. "There are some nicer about."

The whole 'trying to kick someone's head off their shoulders' might've been unsettling if he'd thought she meant literally, given that he'd just caught her looking his way. "Good luck with that."

Roaming around brought a pleasing feeling to her, as well as releasing all her anger at once. "I would but I really am tired of meeting aggravating people." She stuck her tongue out a little to show that she was kidding.

Taking a drink of her water she thought that it would be great luck to succeed. "I wish, although it would end bad for me." She wasn't sure exactly how close to let him and what to tell.

"Welcome to the human race." A good majority of which annoyed Eliot on a daily basis. If that was all she was meeting, maybe she had less patience than he did. He glanced sideways at her before shaking his head and landing another jab at the bag.

"Don't think you're going to accomplish that on your own." He knew she wasn't speaking literally (although there was always the chance that she was but no one was ever that flexible) but either way, the statement stood.

"The human race, seems more like a rat race." She was tired of meeting idiots and that seemed to be all people were. At least he sounded like he understood.

"I could if pushed far enough to my limit!" She almost snapped the words but stopped. Kicking a few rough times she started to keep time between left and right. "You know anyone here?"

He could be cynical but he wasn't that bad. Mankind had its flaws, its idiots, its terrible. But it had a lot of good in it too. He'd seen that more than once while working on Nathan Ford's team and it was starting to restore his faith in his fellow man. It was just a slow process.

Her response merited a look over his shoulder. Yeah, there was something more to that but he wasn't about to get into it with a complete stranger. Instead, he shrugged. "Few people," he answered vaguely.

"Most but not you of course." Life had destroyed her, robbed her, and left her with nothing. This was her first attempt at trying to make a male friend in a long time.

She watched him, something about him made her smile. It felt weird shaking her head she laughed. Moving over to... "Can you teach me this sparring thing?" The ring was interesting and the thought seemed worth a try.

"Kid, you barely know me." Not even so much as a name. It was harder keeping as much about his life private that he usually did when he had set living arrangements, a roommate (when they weren't disappearing on him), and whatever was in charge doing whatever the hell it was doing. "Just step out during the day, walk around. I'm sure you'll find better people."

He glanced at the bag and took a step back, ducking low to pick up his water bottle. "I can give you a few pointers," he replied, shrugging.

The word kid hit her and all she could do was snap her teeth together. The grinding sound giving her comfort from the words in her head. "I.AM.NOT.A.KID." Her whole life it had bothered her and here it did the same. If he only knew a part of her life he would understand she thought.

You could just give up walk out, or just break down you're good at that. Her other personality really wanted to have fun but she was in control. "I don't know you, but from what I have seen." It was the best she could offer for her mistake.

"Thanks, I can handle myself pretty well but you look like you know all this." She enjoyed fighting and he looked like someone who could help her keep her ground a little.

"Whoa," he snapped, holding up a hand. "Sorry. But the next time you don't like something, you might want to ask nicely. It'll work better." It was just a name he threw out for someone more than a few years younger than him and nameless. Lesson learned. "No offense meant."

He took a drink from the bottle and pushed the top back down, tossing the bottle back in the bottle. "I'm having a decent couple of minutes," he replied, shrugging. He found some kind of peace in a fight. Not quite as much going through the motions with a punching bag but it helped.

"You could say that." It wasn't too long ago that he was standing in the middle of a group of downed guards, grinning at Hardison. That's what I do. And did it well. "Might help take the edge off that anger of yours."

She felt bad for having replied so harshly but the words burned. "I'm sorry, just I have had a rough time." She figured he would at least understand that much. "I know, my name is Br..Bree Kristina!" Bree badly wanted to take control but she bit her lip.

"At least they are good around me." She sounded perky and blushed, turning away she slid her hands into a pair of sparring gloves.

She heard his advise and laughed unable to help herself. "I don't have that bad of anger problems." Most of her fighting was towards herself, she tended to enjoy male company.

"How old are you? Also you never answered if you knew anyone here." She joked towards him stretching her neck and back muscles.

If there was something Eliot knew about, it was having a rough time. There were a few comments he could have made, might've made, but that was all just a little too personal. "Story of most of the people here. Getting collected and played with doesn't make for a great time."

He stepped back from the bag, pulling off the fingerless gloves he was wearing and tossing them on top of his things. "Sure." One word to convey that he didn't believe her fully on that one, given their past few minutes of interaction.

"Whoa. Got a few questions there." He shook his head. "Let's just say I'm older than you and yeah, I know a couple of people here." He crossed his arms over his chest. "Whenever you're ready."

She never got answers she wanted, or the conversation she craved. But interaction was nice so she dealt with what she was handed. His comment made her tense a little although she didn't explode. She thought back and saw her son being taken from her, saw the lawyer with the custody papers her mother filled against her. For the first time in a long time she felt a twinge of regret.

Watching his movement brought her back to the now, without her son, without her drugs. All she had to cling to was her strength and that would have to be enough. "I just enjoy hmm... blowing off some internal problems." She had allowed him to take a step closer into her life but at the moment that was all she was offering.

"I'm a little aware that you're older than me, I didn't mean it like that. It must be nice knowing people here at least you have that." The beginning of the comment was through her teeth but as she spoke the words smoothed out.

Smirking she remained still just thinking, looking at him and trying not to think. Bree badly wanted to take over she could handle the guy better than Kristina ever could. But Kristina enjoyed this and he made her feel a little special allowing her to speak and be in control. "Thanks, and I'm ready whenever you are."
