To be perfectly honest, Booth was not having a good day. On top of the fact that his friend's sister had been murdered and he had to deal with the case, he and Bones had apparently been kidnapped and transported to some mysterious city that they couldn't leave. That wasn't really high on his list of things he thought would be fun to do in the middle of a case. At the very least it was a comfort to him that Bones was here as well - he knew that was a selfish thing to think, but he was glad she was here to explain everything and make him feel stupid. It was comforting.

Right now he needed to find her though. She had said that she was still near the library but he couldn't see her anywhere near him, so he backtracked to the steps of the library, thinking maybe she had gone the other way up the street. "Bones? Bones, you here?" He called, feeling stupid because all the locals had stopped what they were doing to stare. He made a rude gesture at them and then resumed his search for his partner.

Brennan had stayed where she was stood, turning around to look for Booth. Apparently they were both there but she'd apparently missed him, and Brennan didn't miss things. She heard his call and turned again, walking towards the sound of where the voice was coming from, calling back; "Booth?"

Brennan found it easy to ignore everyone around her when they turned, pushing through a small crowd of people in her search, a little smile appearing when she saw him. "Booth!" She was glad to see him; comforted by his presence and relieved that she wasn't in this alone - if she had been... Being kidnapped wasn't a situation that she'd wish on Booth, but he had the smarts that she didn't to help them in this.

He was relieved when he saw her. It wasn't like he hadn't known she was okay before just then, but there was something comforting about knowing that she really was there with him, and alright. As he reached her he pulled her into a hug and pressed his cheek against her hair, holding on to her just a little too long.

"Hey, Bones." He said before looking around at their surroundings. They had a lot to talk about, but he decided he should just start with the most obvious. "This doesn't look like an alien planet." He pointed out, gesturing to a chain coffee store down the road from them. He was personally disinclined to believe what they had been informed.

Seeing Booth, hugging him... she could have for a moment forgotten where they were, but when the embrace broke she saw the unfamiliar place around her and remembered again. Having Booth here helped, but she didn't know for how long.

"No matter the research gone into finding other planets, I very much doubt that we're on one." Brennan looked towards the coffee shop, then to some of the other buildings around her. This was more likely just another state and someone trying to be funny; and she could tell that this wasn't a joke. "What do we do?"

As they began to walk down the street he kept his hand on the small of her back out of force of habit and also due to the fact that despite the fact that they probably weren't on an alien planet, it was still a weird place that gave him a bad feeling. He didn't know how far from home they were or how they'd gotten there, that was enough to put him on edge. The woman he'd talked to over his PDA had said that they couldn't leave, but he didn't see anything stopping them. He figured he couldn't take everything he heard from strangers at face value and it might be worth further investigation.

"Want to try an experiment?" He suggested, a teasing tone in his voice. She'd probably object to his use of the phrase, being her sciencey self and all.
