Rose Weasley ([info]pressured) wrote in [info]colligo_threads,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Rose Weasley and Pansy Parkinson
What: Next generation Weasley meets her parents ENEMY
When: Afternoon
Where: Shopping district of Colligo
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Sunglasses that hid half of her face hung on the tip of her nose. Her long emerald green shirt was matched with a pair of black tights and converse high tops. Since Al had left Rose had been feeling pretty bummed, but at least she still had Scorpius. Could be worse. Still, she decided she was going to cheer herself up with some shopping. Muggle clothes were always so much more fun. Before that though, she had stopped in at a music store, purchased some CDs, and even got a job out of the deal.

Her bag strap was crossed over her chest, the bag itself hanging down by her waist behind her. There was some clothing on display outside of a shop, and she had stopped to root through the racks and see if she could spot anything interesting.

From the rack she pulled out a dress, striped green and black. Was it hard to tell the girl had a thing for green? It it wasn't obvious by the shirt, or the silver and green snake necklace that hung around her neck, then you were just clueless. Slytherin pride, all the way.

She held the dress out on one finger on her left, and then turned back to the clothes to continue to dig through the fabric to see what she could find.

Pansy wasn't quite sure what was going on anymore. Everytime she checked her PDA, someone was freaking out about something. It was really no cause of concern for her, since she didn't know many people here, and the ones she did know and like were pretty quiet. So, in order to give herself something to do that didn't have anything to do with socializing on the network, she headed out into the shopping district. Spending money was always one of her favorite pastimes.

A lot of the Muggle clothing was definitely not up to par in Pansy's opinion, but some of the dresses and blouses weren't so bad, and she managed to find a few items that she liked enough to purchase. Even if she didn't buy much, she could at least get some insight on what people wore around the city. If she was going to be designing clothes again here like she did back home, she needed to know what was popular.

Glancing up, it wasn't hard to notice the girl with the fiery red hair standing nearby. Immediately, Pansy thought it was that bloody Weasley, probably shopping for himself in the woman's department like a bloody fool, but then she realized it was another young girl. From her red hair, Pansy took notice of the girl's attire, as well as her necklace. She had no idea that this was in fact Ron and Hermione's daughter, or that the girl was a Slytherin, but she decided to remark on her wardrobe, anyway.

"It's nice to see someone in this bloody place knows how to put a decent look together," she said from the other side of the rack with a smirk. "Lovely colors, too."

Her brown eyes flicked up, peering at the woman across from her. When she saw her face, her jaw nearly hit the ground. She knew who this person was. Well, maybe. Mistaken identity did happen. But in the wizarding world, Rose was no stranger to fashion, and she had seen this womans picture before. Granted, she was much older, but she could still make out the features. She had the right accent...and she did take a liking to the right colours.

Her dad would kill her for talking to her if it turned out this was who she thought it was. ...oh well.

Rose glanced to her side for a second, as if checking to see if the woman was talking to someone else, and then she looked back over. "The number of fashion challenged people are large." she commented, half amused. She did have to agree though, she didn't really see many looks she liked around here. Maybe she was just picky. Not that she cared either way how people dressed. She didn't judge them on it. "I'm a fan." she said with a nod.

"Plan on opening a store, Miss Parkinson?" so she was taking a long shot her by guessing that this was the fashion designer from her world. Any clothes she had by her, she couldn't tell her parents who they were by, at least not her dad. She generally hid them. They weren't always the style she liked, but there were some things that were made that Rose liked to add to her wardrobe.

At the girl's response, Pansy's small smirk actually morphed into an honest-to-goodness grin. So she didn't only look like she had sense, but she really did have sense, at that. Pansy was genuinely surprised, but pleasantly so.

That was only the first remark. When it became obvious that the girl knew who Pansy was, her heart actually began to beat harder with delight. This girl was from the Wizarding World, as well. She had no idea who she was, but that didn't matter much. She was obviously a Slytherin, based on her choice of colors to wear, and she knew and liked her work. That was good enough for her.

"I am, actually," she said, her tone lilting quiet happily. "Unfortunately, my wand didn't come with me when I got here, so I'm having a new one made. But when it's finished, I'm getting back to work." She took a step away from the rack to glance the girl up and down, not bothering to hide the fact that she was doing it. "And who might you be, you lovely little thing?"

Rose watched Pansy's reaction carefully, finding herself both amused and pleased by it. However she didn't think that smile would last long when Pansy found out who she was. Rose had come to find that a lot of people judged based on family, no matter what you were like as an individual. While she had no idea if Pansy was like that, she would assume she was, but then hope for the best.

"Let me guess." she said, as she pushed aside a hideous gray sweater to move on to a pair of jeans. "Merlin?" because who else was going to be powerful enough to make her a wand? No one else from their world would have the slightest clue how.

She didn't really move as Pansy looked her over. She half expected it. At her question, a smirk worthy of any Slytherin crept on her face. Rose doubted Pansy would call her lovely after this. "Rose Weasley." she said, her voiced laced with amusement. "Don't judge. They aren't my fault." she added, her smirk still present as she watched for Pansy's reaction from behind her glasses. It wasn't her fault her dad was so...impossible. She knew Pansy hated her parents. Actually, she probably didn't like anyone in her family.

"Good guess," Pansy replied with a smirk. "I wouldn't let anyone else but Merlin himself make me a new wand." Not that she'd had much choice in the matter, Merlin volunteered himself, but it all just worked out so well for her, and she had no complaints.

It was as if Pansy had been slapped in the face when Rose revealed the fact that she was, indeed, a Weasley. The remark about her parents not being her fault made her think that maybe the girl was nothing like them, and she was a fan of her clothing line, but it still made her feel a little strange to be so buddy-buddy with with.

"Of course you would be a Weasley," she said, shaking her head almost sympathetically, though she was still smiling a bit.

No one but Merlin here, anyway. Rose had no problem with her own wand maker, but she wouldn't trust anyone else here to make her something so important. "He's been quite helpful, actually." making all sorts of Quidditch things as well, which, if she remembered right, wouldn't really matter to Pansy.

She looked down, a smirk still on her face from the reaction. She must not laugh. Rose was use to that by now. Yes, a Weasley in Slytherin.

"It's the hair, isn't it?" she said, half amused. Yes, she realized there were tones of them. They were almost their own army. The Weasley-Potter family dominated Hogwarts by sheer number. "Ron and Hermione's kid, actually. One of them." she said with a shrug. "Though you might be pleased to know I'm not the only one branched off from those siblings who landed in Slytherin." there were actually a few of them. About time someone caused some switch ups as well. "Dad was thrilled." she said with a roll of her eyes.

Alright, so maybe this girl wasn't so bad. A Weasley, and also a Granger mixed in as well, but she seemed decent. She supposed it wasn't really fair to hold it against her that both of her parents were annoying, that she couldn't stand either one of them. It was a sheer miracle that they managed to even produce someone like Rose.

"I thought you were your father before I actually looked," Pansy replied, her nose wrinkling a bit in distaste. "It's safe to say you're a better outcome, but how much of one remains to be seen." It was a half-joke, really. "And I'm sure he was thrilled. Did he sit you down and tell you not to become evil just because you're a Slytherin?"

"Really?" okay, she didn't know how that happened. Rose was no where near Ron's size of build. Maybe in the face, or it was just the hair. "Definitely the hair." because it really couldn't be anything else. She was a well blended mix of her many people in her family.

Rose actually considered that question for a moment, thinking back to the first time she saw her dad after she was sorted. "Actually...yes." she mused, shaking her head. "Him and a few other relatives." such as James. She had Al had got it good, so Dom hadn't had it quite as bad after, but she still felt bad for the girl. At least she had been able to face everything with Al. "Wasn't so bad though. My cousin and I are in the same year, same house, so we learned to ignore it together." she said with a shrug. Her family would all get over it eventually. Though some of them really could hold grudges.

"So where are you going to open the store?" she asked, somewhat eagerly.

Pansy listened carefully, wanting to know just how the offspring of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger could end up in Slytherin. Nothing Rose said really revealed as much, but now she was more determined than ever to keep an eye on her. She definitely intrigued her, to say the least.

At the question, Pansy perked up and grinned again. All of her foul thoughts of people she went to school with faded into the background. Any opportunity she had to do a bit of bragging was a good one.

"Right over there, actually." She turned and pointed off to a building across the street. It was empty, but not run-down in the least. It was right in the center of the shopping area, which would give everyone easy access. "I expect to see you on opening day."

Rose wasn't one for revealing much if she didn't have to. Best to leave a little mystery about herself, make people wonder just a little bit more.

Glancing over her shoulder, Rose lowered her sunglasses to glance over at the store, taking in the building. It looked up to par, something to work with. It had potential, that was for sure.

Turning back around, Rose grinned, nodding. "Opening day, I'll probably be front of the line." and there would be a line. Rose could remember sales at her store back home. It was insane in there some times, like she had to fight for her life. "Rebuilding a wardrobe is awful when stores you usually shop in aren't here." at least one of them would be now.

Pansy was smiling again. She was surprised that she was liking Rose so much, but again, she wasn't going to complain. It was about time someone with a little class showed up, someone who could appreciate the finer things in life. How a Weasley had ever managed it, she would never know, but that really wasn't of the utmost importance.

"Well, you won't have to worry about that soon enough." She glanced down at the rack she was standing in front of. "Honestly, I don't understand how half of the things even make it off of the sketchpad and into the stores. The designers should be ashamed of themselves."

Well thank Merlin for that. ...even if Merlin wasn't opening the store. She really needed to find a new name to 'thank.' With Merlin here, it was just awkward now.

Rose reached forward and held up a fuzzy gray sweater with a pink bow on the collar, and then held it up, and away, as if it was diseased. "I might buy it just to burn it." she commented, to save anyone else from buying it. Who made these things? Was it meant for old ladies? Or just...weird people? She couldn't even see aunt Luna in it, and Luna had the most original fashion sense Rose had ever seen.

She picked at the bow, tugging at it slightly. "I was top of my class, and I still don't get it." she just didn't get the sweater in general. Just, why?

"Unfortunately, you don't get fashion sense out of a book," Pansy remarked with a smirk. "You're born with it, though...I really have no idea where you got yours from. Surely, neither of your parents would ever be caught dead in something I designed."

She took one look at the hideous sweater that Rose had pulled out from the rack, shut her eyes and waved a hand in hurried dismissal. "That has to be the most hideous thing I've ever seen in my life. Don't even touch it."

She doubted very much that you were born with it. She herself got her fashion sense from her idols, from music, and from books, but she wasn't about to start arguing with her. Making enemies? Not really the smartest plan. Her parents might not mind arguing with her about everything, but Rose saw no point to it. "Probably not, no. Dad turned a lovely shade of red the first time he figured out I was wearing one of your dresses. Either way, I'd say Aunt Fleur had a good part in my fashion." which was actually true. The quarter veela in her family did have a large influence on her clothes. Though it was a nice blend of Fleur and her music idols.

She laughed at that one, looking at the monster on the rack. "No burning then." shame, it could be fun. The sweater did deserve it. But maybe it wasn't worth spending money on. She shoved the sweater back onto the rack and quickly blew past it, looking for something else of interest, she doubted she'd find it though.

Pansy had to grin at the thought of Ron and Hermione getting so bent out of shape about Rose's choice in clothing. It was a lovely thing after so many years, being able to still get under their skin in a very roundabout way. It was almost like a perfect Slytherin tactic, really.

"It would be a waste of your time to even do such a thing, not to mention a waste of your money, as well." Pansy could agree with the fact that the sweater deserved to be burnt, but it was best to let it sit and rot on the rack, since no one in their right mind would buy the atrocity.

All of a sudden, Pansy grinned all over again. "Have you ever thought about modeling? I've been needing someone to try the new designs on so I can make sure they're perfected." If her parents ever found out about that...

"True, I could put the money toward new shoes." because she could never have enough shoes. And considering most of the shoes she owned were in a different world, possibly planet, maybe a different universe, she had a lot of making up to do.

Rose arched an eyebrow, giving her an 'are you serious?' look. "Can't say I have actually. I'm more into music, though it's not something I'd say no to." she said with a smile. "Except are you asking because you think I'd make a good model, or just to piss off my dad?" she asked, amused.

Not that it really mattered. Rose tried to piss her father off all the time. Granted, she also tried to make him proud, though she was pretty sure she managed with the former more successfully.

Pansy laughed quietly, then stepped back from the rack to give the young girl another once-over, this time with more of a purpose behind it rather than just being judgmental. She was a bit shorter than Pansy might have liked, but she could work with that. However it had happened, she was a pretty girl, and she really would be a good candidate.

"A little bit of both," she replied honestly, flicking her gaze back up to meet Rose's eyes. "So what do you think?"

She studied Pansy for a moment, half wondering if this really would cause any trouble. Or if her Father would even notice. Probably not, he was a teenage, didn't even seem to realize he had a daughter running around here. Perfect, he'd have no idea unless someone forced him to listen.

"Sounds brilliant." she said with a at least she was honest. Even if she wasn't, Rose probably would have figured it out. Again, not that she really cared. Rose was into fashion, and this was an opportunity. "I'm in."

"Excellent," Pansy replied, clasping her hands together at her chest, wearing a simper that could have easily been joyous or devious. "I'll be in touch with you as soon as I get my wand from Merlin. We can sort out meetings and such, payment arrangements and the like." Because even Pansy knew that it wouldn't be right to not pay a person for their work, even a Weasley. "For now though, I really do need to be going. It was very nice meeting you, and don't even think about picking up that sweater again." She gave a grin over her shoulder as she turned away and exited the store.
