She had changed and when hunting and running yesterday. She should have been fine for a week, two weeks if she really, really wanted to push herself. This shouldn't be happening, she had control over herself, more control than many others. She'd always made sure of that, because she didn't want to cause trouble for her pack, and she didn't want to kill any innocent person.

The burning in her legs, shocked her, and then it soon spread to her arms. Spread much faster than it ever had. If she left now, she didn't know if she'd make it to the safe-house before she Changed. And at the rate this was going, she didn't know if she'd black out and kill someone. Or many someones. She couldn't risk going out on her own. So she needed to get help.

And so she did, and hopefully Leah would get her soon, because Kate didn't know how long she'd hold out. She was doubled over in her chair, her teeth grinding together. It was taking all of her will to keep her wolf back, to keep herself from changing shape. But she knew her features would start to warp. She could feel her bones in her hands shift, sending searing pain through her body. And then she had to fight to change them back into hands. She could not lost control here, she could hurt someone.

Kate never wanted to hurt someone. For wolves like her who had made the choice to control the beast, it was always a fear they would slip, and murder someone without even realizing it. Waking up over a dead body, covered in blood couldn't be pleasant. She'd never experienced that, because she had her pack. But her parents weren't there. Jeremy wasn't here. Antonio wasn't here, and she could be in trouble if Leah didn't get there fast.

Rachel slid out of her chair, onto the floor. Biting back a cry, she felt her spin contort, and her back bowed. Half snarling, she forced herself back into shape again, causing more pain. She couldn't let the wolf win on this. Not yet. Kate couldn't win completely. In the end, the wolf would get what it wanted.

Leah didn't know a whole lot about how wolves like Kate worked. She'd spoken about it briefly with Elena upon her arrival, but her general knowledge was definitely lacking. She didn't like the word ignorant, but that would probably be a pretty good fit for her knowledge of how the other wolves of Colligo worked. Mostly, she just ignored them when she could. She knew they had a safe house of some sort and all bunkered down there during the full moon, but because that wasn't how she worked she'd never concerned herself with it.

Knowing that Kate might lose control, hurt somebody she hadn't meant to, that was different. Leah knew what it felt like to fear that. Nobody deserved to feel that way. So she had run the whole way to Kate's building, cursing herself for letting herself get out of shape during her long stay in the city. She was going to go running tomorrow. Jogging, for sure. She wasn't as fast as she had been. When she arrived she didn't bother knocking on the door, she just entered the apartment.

"Hello?" She asked tentatively, her body quavering in anticipation. She hoped she'd be able to get Kate all bunkered down without having to phase herself, but she'd do whatever she needed to.

If Leah listened carefully, it wouldn't be hard to hear what room Kate was in. The sound of carpet and floor tearing filled the room as her hands shifted back into claws, digging at the floor, before she forced them back into hands again. The drive to change was just growing stronger and stronger, and she didn't get why.

Why was this happening? She'd changed, she'd hunted, she'd given the wolf what she wanted, so why? This had never happened to her. She wasn't some newbie mutt who had no idea how to be what they were.

Kate heard Leah come in, and speak. Kate never really got a word out though, just a whimper as the bones in her back tried to realign again into a wolf spine, and she had to fight it back to being human. She either needed to be secured, or get to that house fast. Maybe knocked unconscious. She'd go for that, if it would get her out of here.

Leah moved into the other room quickly, swearing loudly as she saw the other girl on the floor. She was shifting awkwardly, and it looked painful. She hung back for a second, reluctant to get too close to the writhing girl. She'd seen what could happen. Still, though, she needed to get her under control before she shifted completely. The last thing this place needed was some kind of epic wolf showdown in the courtyard of the apartment building.

The safe house wasn't too far, and it looked to Leah like Kate had the shifts somewhat in control, so she got closer and stooped over Kate's form. "Try to stay calm, alright?" She said, knowing it was a stupid platitude. She picked the girl up and moved quickly out of the apartment. If Kate shifted, she could too. If she could hold it back, Leah would be able to get her to the safe house.

The scent of wolf, not like the wolf she was use to, slammed into her as Leah entered the room. She had to bite her own tongue to keep herself from growling at the unknown. The wolf didn't like her. She wasn't pack, she smelled different, she smelled like someone who could be a threat. Kate had to very sternly, make her shut up.

The last thing she wanted was any sort of show down, especially one where she might not be be present, but blacked out for.

If she could laugh at 'try to stay calm' she would have. Suddenly the ground was no longer underneath her, and then there was the issue of the wolf not liking it, at all. She could take care of herself. Her features blurred, become fuzzy, and then clear again as she try to suppress the burning sensation flowing through her. This shouldn't be happening.

"Hurry." was what she managed to respond, not bothering to look at where they were, or how fast they were moving.

"Yeah," Leah breathed, trying to keep a level head. She bristled at Kate's demeanor. It was the oddest thing. Her instincts could sense the predator, the enemy inside of the girl, waiting to get out, and her brain screamed at her that this was a problem, that she needed to take care of it, but she needed to focus, not fight. She quivered slightly as she carried the girl out of the apartment building and towards the safe house.

There was something about being out in the open that bothered Leah greatly, given the situation. Maybe it was that people were mulling about, going about their evenings, generally unaware that they were in danger. Typically she didn't consider the locals to be worth her time or pity, but she didn't want to see them mauled. She didn't want to maul them.

She managed to arrive at the safe house with everyone in one piece, and she put Kate down and separated herself from her. She didn't know what to do, though, and she cursed herself for not going to the full moon sleepovers or whatever. "Do you need anything?" She tried, backing up against the other wall so she wouldn't have to smell the other wolf.

One thing she noted, whatever kind of wolf Leah was, she was fast. Very fast. Much faster than wolves from her world, even just as a human. That, if she wasn't concentrating so hard, would have been very impressive.

She didn't even looked for Oz in the other cages, though my her sense of smell she knew exactly where he was. If she noticed how fast the girl backed aways, she didn't care. Hunched over, she managed to pull herself into one of the cages, and reach out through the bars to slam the lock closed, before her fingers wrapped around the bars, fingers that were shifting back into claws again.

Did she need anything? And explanation would be great. She had spare clothes here, and food, so she wasn't worried about that. "I haven't blacked out or lost control since I was seventeen." she breathed out. She had no idea if she needed anything.

She needed her pack. Even if she was further away, Kate could still smell Leah, and the other wolf. Her wolf knew she was now contained, and she didn't like it. "Don't come near her." she said softly, it wasn't said in a rude manner, more like asking for a favor. When she lost it, don't come near her. Her eyes were ice blue, hard, impossible to read.

The sounds of bone moving and reforming came again, and she dropped to her knees, content to let the wolf have what she wanted now that she was secured.
