Well, good for them. Not exactly going to change my way of talking to suit a bunch of strangers, if it's all the same.

I guess it's a step up from Purgatory where I was, minus the 'leaving is all but impossible bit'.

Yeah, it's certainly a step up from Purgatory. Not that I've ever been, mind, but I've heard enough tales to more than last me several lifetimes.
