So. I don't know about the rest of you, but I vote we not trust the pod people with things like rebuilding the damaged apartment buildings. They want to work on their own shops, fine by me, but if a contractor can't tie his own shoes after being asked why we're here, I really don't want him in charge of repairing the roof under which I sleep.

Which means that maybe we should start figuring out who would be best to do what, in the repair department? There has to be at least someone who isn't from this planet that knows this kind of stuff.

[Dawn]
I have a credit card - because yes, I am just that good and the guy at the counter was a moron - and you have a baby on the way and a belly that's going to keep getting bigger until she gets here.

I say we go shopping. My treat, obviously.

I vote for me not trying to repair stuff. The last time I built something, it was a house made of Legos that fell down when Buffy breathed on it.

[Cordy]
I definitely like this plan. I also want you to check out the color scheme I picked - and help me decorate!

Oh honey. That wasn't your lack of building skills. That was your sister's dragon breath.

Just kidding. Sort of.

But yeah. At the risk of setting feminism back a century or four, I say we let the burly manly man types or whatever handle that sort of stuff. I'm good with the cleaning aspect but building stuff? Really not my strong suit.

[Dawn]
Sure thing! When are you free?

Actually, it's fair. You're probably right.

Yeah - that way we can sit back with popcorn and watch them. Especially once they take their shirts off.

[Cordy]
I work tomorrow evening, but I'm free before that. 'Til five, basically.

Oh I'm totally right. I'm just trying to respect the fact that she's a total hero who has saved the world about a billion times, meaning she probably deserves a bit more respect. And if you ever tell her I said that, I'm denying all of it.

See and now we need a heatwave. Pronto.

[Dawn]
Alright. How about we meet at your place at eleven so I can see what you're using for colors, then grab some lunch before shopping?

Got it.

We do. Though I'd like this one to happen with the air in the apartments still working.

[Cordy]
Sounds perfect! Just don't be horrified if I eat every single thing on the menu, then get ice cream an hour later.

Wait. There was a heat wave and no working air? Okay, that's just wrong. We need air with our heat, people. Otherwise the non!hot guys will start stripping and nobody wants to see that.

[Dawn]
Honey, when I was pregnant with some demon spawn like creature, I drank about three pints of Angel's pig blood. Believe me, after something like that? There's not much you can do while pregnant that'll horrify me.

Yeah, it was awful.

[Cordy]
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I had to go be sick thanks to that image. Ew.

Sounds like.

[Dawn]
Oh. Right. Pregnant. No more disgusting stories about drinking blood or any of the other totally abnormal things I encountered while Angel's Seer. Cross my heart.

I would definitely appreciate it. Usually I can handle it, but apparently Katie's not a fan of the imagery.

Katie? Short for Katherine, I'm hoping? Because if not, you and I need to have a talk about naming your kid something that is meant to be a nickname.

I'm glad. Adam and I came up with it together. Katherine was his mom's name.

I'm pretty familiar with doing repair work. I could help out where needed.

That would be awesome. Because I'm pretty sure a couple of strong winds might very well make the buildings fall right on down. And as much as I'd like to think we'd get a bit of forewarning before something like that would happen, after those Toclawhatsits showed up without anyone having a clue, I'm not getting my hopes up.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a warning either since this place seems to be one surprise after another on arrival. If the worst of the structural damage gets done first, at least there's less chance of that happening.

[info]thisismyofframp

Yeah. Normally I'm pretty much the Early Warning System back home and I didn't get so much as a glimpse of all the slice-and-dice-or-dust mayhem. I seriously doubt I'll see the buildings topple down until they actually do.

Good. Agreeing with me means you're smart. So you're probably right about that whole hammer thing. Then again, you don't exactly strike me as the sort of guy afraid to get his hands dirty, so that's probably part of it too.

You're not exactly chopped meat yourself.

And a plan? What part of that at all made it seem like I had a plan? For that matter, do I even look like the kind of girl who comes up with plans on how to reinforce structurally damaged buildings?

Short answer? Nope. No plan. Just sorta winging it as I go and hoping someone who knows what they're doing will step up sooner rather than later.

Ha. That was actually funny I deserve that.

Nice to meet you too, Cordyelia Chase.

I could talk to my dad and see if he has any sort of plan if no one else steps up. He used to be a handy man. Mapping out ideas for buildings is different from fixing our house but it couldn't hurt.
