Just what the hell?

This is not... Quark! If this is another one of your damn... And Dax said holosuites were a good idea. What kind of place is this anyway?

I'm starting to hate them all over again.

No, what I meant-- I should've phrased that differently.

Let me start again.

When you say "holosuites," you mean a simulation with photons and force fields, right?

To put it technically.

Unless Felix programmed you as well as Vic, I doubt this is a holosuite. Where are we?

Definitely not a holosuite, sorry to say. We're in a city called Colligo on an unknown planet in an unknown system. I can't even say for sure if we're still in Alpha Quadrant. The technology we have access to here has limited capabilities.

You're Federation, right?

For once I might be more comfortable with that alternative.

Well that's reassuring. Come through this to... I don't want to know.

In a way. I command one of their stations.

In a way is better than not in any way.

What year are you from?

2375. Do I even want to know when he's from?

The 24th Century, then. I'm from a good hundred years before your time...ma'am, but I'm part of the Federation -- a Captain in Starfleet. And before I tell you who I am, I assure you, I'm not delusional or lying or trying to trick anyone. I'm stuck in the same situation as everyone else here.

Not delusional and stuck in the situation? After the Dominion-

Temporal Investigations is going to love this one.

Oh, I hear they're big fans of mine. or, rather, the other me from the other timeline

I'm Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise.

Enterprise... didn't Dax...? Colonel Kira Nerys of Deep Space Nine.

I've only had to deal with them once so far and they didn't seem very fond of me then and from what I'm told, they don't get any fonder. what the other me was thinking with all those violations, i'll never know

It's a pleasure to speak with you, Colonel, nevermind the circumstance.

The more the merrier. I can only think how they'll come now I'm in command.

Unfortunately the circumstance is the only way the pleasure's there. Other than temporal anomalies.

You forgot to mention the locals and not being able to leave. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're slipping.

Oh! Sorry! I guess the blank reply is because you have no idea who I am?

I'm Claire Bennet. I've... actually been here longer than just about everyone else. And unfortunately, what I said was true. So far we can't figure out a way to leave the city and if you ask any of the locals why we're here they act like their brains were shut off or something.

Welcome, though, for what it's worth.

See that's what I thought at first too, but I think it's more than that. They all give the same answer. Every last one of them. Like they're following some kind of script or something. It's definitely weird and I know weird.

I know. You're so aweso It's nice to meet you!

If this were a different situation I might agree.

Yes, exactly like that. We started out calling them pod people, but I guess you wouldn't really get that reference since pretty much nobody else from your reality time gets it, either. But programming works. It's like they're programmed what to say when you ask about the city and why we're here or how we got here. They're great the rest of the time - just like everyday, normal people - but ask them something about Colligo and the reply is always the same.

It's okay, you'll get used to it eventually. Everyone does. Or who knows? Maybe we'll find a way out of here and back to our respective homes. Although I doubt it.

I'd rather not have to get used to it.
