Satinalia Plotting Post

Satinalia falls on the first day of Firstfall and is a day for drinking, feasting, revelry, giving of gifts, and wearing of masks. This is the last feast day before the advent of winter and as such is seen as a final celebration before a more somber time. There will be no group IC starter as there are so many different things going on over the course of the next couple of days, but this post is here to help you plot out whether your characters meet up, whether they hand out gifts and to whom, and of course to see what celebrations are happening around town!

Ain't No Party Like a Warden Party

Aside from those who draw short straws and take Deep Roads duty on the first, the Wardens have the day almost entirely free. There's even more food than usual and come evening, the wine and ale flow freely. This is one of the few times when the members of the Order are encouraged to let loose. The Warden Commander turns a blind eye to any rowdiness. Guests of existing Wardens are welcome.

Bonfire in the Woods

On the eve of the holiday, the Tagaris bros are hosting a bonfire/roast outside the city gates. There will be lots and lots of roast meat, alcohol, and ridiculous stories. Invitees are basically friends and family, though if your character has a reason to be out in the wilderness after dark it's not impossible to come upon the celebrants and they may offer to feed you~

Reha is at the bonfire in the woods! She is preposterously overdressed for the occasion (though the sensible boots she wears under the mountain of skirt are good for walking even in the woods). She also comes bearing gifts!

As the hosts, Lev and Godric get personalized specific gifts: very fine and well-made warm cloaks for winter. Both are basic black, though Lev's is lined in the interior with black silk with an elaborately embroidered gold threaded dragon pattern, while Godric's cloak's interior lining is plain.

Sorin gets a personalized gift because hey, Reha actually knows him/he works for her now. Already more than happy to see him dressed in whatever he wants from the shop for free (it's just good business to always wear their wares), Reha gifts Sorin with a gold cloak pin that features a simple sun design.

All of the other revelers at the bonfire get generic goody bags: unisex style purses Reha made herself (so it's a solid purse that will withstand a lot), filled with some coins and sweets.

	Lev goes from having one old ratty cloak to having 2 new ones in one night. XD Because the fancy dragon is on the inside (and okay also because it's a DRAGON), he will completely wear his gift a lot. Well played, madam. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Alienage Community Festival... Type... Thing

I'll assume that it's not uncommon for the elves of the Alienage to have like, a giant festival thing around the vhenandahl and in the tavern on the first? Sorin will cameo here, though he's probably more likely to be with the Tagaris bros assuming he's not too hungover after the bonfire. XDDDDD But elves who are interested, this is a thing that is happening, Sorin's mom is performing here, etc!

Caspian will probably spend some time with friends on the 31st/morning of the 1st and then hang out at the outpost for Satinalia evening proper. His closest friends get gifts! Mostly unimaginative gifts because Cas sucks at shopping!!! Books or clothing or, if you're Oz, alcohol.

Lev is hosting a party on the eve of Satinalia and just hanging around on the day of. Only family get gifts, and they're extremely practical (armor, weapons, warm clothes for winter...). Everyone else just gets fed.

Noëlle has been running around masked and enjoying the festivities all week. This is hands down her favorite holiday of the year. Unlike my boys, she gifts everyonnneeeeeeeee because she enjoys shopping even when it's for other people. Most of her friends probably get some gemmed trinkets (think hair combs, brooches, cloak pins, etc). A very fortunate few might get something she's made though she doesn't go around handing our poisons and potions and traps to just anyone. She might attend some fancy party if she's invited to one (at the palace or the embassy or someplace of the sort).

Raziya likes to party. She has nowhere in particular to be but she'll be around. Her makeshift family aka her crew will all probably get utterly smashfaced the night of. Doesn't really do gifts.

Sorin has been spending what little free time he has from work shopping for his friends, but mostly, he's been super busy with work. Satinalia Eve, he's at the Tagaris Bonfire and after maybe a couple of hours of sobriety winds up drunk, so the day of Satinalia he's spending most of the day hungover. XD He'll make an appearance at the Alienage festival in the late afternoon/early evening but for #reasons likely won't stay for too long before he probably runs off to find the Tagaris bros to hang out with them instead because, again, #reasons.

Midha will not be buying anybody anything for presents but will be drinking and eating to her heart's content. You can catch her at bars and pubs until the Warden party times and then she'll be at the outpost for celebrations of the drinking and eating caliber.

Alia will buy presents for everyone because, well, she's almost expected to? If she's been invited to a party, you can bet that she will be there dressed in a different gown for each because Dat Royal Lyfe. But she's been around the marketplace and other festivities because she is tired of being cooped up in the palace tbh!

Isolde will be hanging around the church and the gardens. This is her first Satanalia without her husband, so she's going to be sad, but available to chat with people after the service or if anyone wants to wander around the gardens.

Oz will be hanging around with Luren probably (Dee?), and doing the rounds to the the bars because THIS DAY IS FOR BOOZE. :D :D :D :D He will probably lose his pants again. He's not even sorry.

Shae doesn't give a fuck. :| Feel free to try to get her in the Satanalia spirit!

Reha dropped off Lauren's birthday present the morning of and then promptly made herself scarce for the next 24 hours. (I don't know what the gift is because I am an abject failure but Reha insists on getting him a birthday present separate from his Satinalia gift.)

At some point in the early afternoon of the feast day Reha showed up again to give Luren and Oz their Satinalia gifts. (Fancy winter cloaks she made, herself, and calf-skin leather gloves with fur lined interior.) But soon thereafter she disappeared again. (And this time she was much more evasive about her plans.)
