I put my bag down and I came up here. “

The Fox and Fiddle is a real place in Toronto and *is* located on John St. but having never visited it I took liberties with certain – all - features. Like suggesting they have waiters who would spit in a customer's drink. Uh. Sorry guys.

Summary: Frustration and tension are wearing down on the two top seeds during the 2004 Wimbledon final. (Set during the first rain break in the first set.)
Notes: This fic - well not exactly this fic, I rewrote the entire thing because it showed just how bad my tennis knowledge was at the time - was the very first tennis slash fic I wrote, begun halfway through the 2004 Wimbledon final it's centered around. I remember having to check the scoreboard to see how you spelt 'Federer' and if 'Roddick' had two d's or one.
Disclaimer: Own nothing, no one and this never happened - as far as I know both Andy and Roger were innocently occupied with other things during that first rain break. This is just me having fun with what could have happened.

Summary: Everything in Roger’s world gets turned upside down.
Notes: Penultimate part of the Pretty Close to Invincible series, previous parts of which can be read here. Takes place after Intent. I sincerely apologise for the drastic overlength; if I ever get round to rewriting, it'll probably get cut down. As it is, it comes in at just under 10,000 words.

A final note: I am aware that both Roger and Mirka would in all likelihood be speaking Swiss German to each other, not English. However since (a)I don't speak any Swiss German, and (b) constantly referring to a glossary for that *much* dialogue would ruin the fic, I elected to keep absolutely everything in English - if Moulin Rouge and so on can suspend disbelief, so can I. Yes they'll be speaking Swiss German to each other. It just happens to be in English for you to read. ;-)
