She had been expecting a reaction similar to that and hoped it did not get worse. Naruto was rather expressive compared to the other boys she knew, after all, and while that was something she liked about him, it also tended to make him come off as too blunt during sensitive moments. For this situation, however, she could not blame him for being jittery.
"They're... s-so hideous, aren't they?" She said, unsure, and looked into his gray eyes, wishing hers could be the same lack of color right now. She felt too self conscious this way and it bothered her. She was usually such a vibrant and confident girl, but being 'different' was causing her anxiety and discomfort. She did not know how to react to her own coloring, as strange as it seemed. At one point, she thought she liked it, but then she remembered how most everyone else was not this way and her reclusive side brought out many insecurities. Why couldn't she just feel pleasant again?
She suddenly felt a strange wetness forming in the rim of her eyes, and before she could do anything about it, realized she was tearing up. Sakura had never cried before. What was going on?
