Sakura listened intently to Haruka's words though they seemed to confuse her somewhat. A range of emotions beyond pleasant? What did that even mean? No one had any reason to be anything but pleasant and that was that. As long as pleasant remained pleasant, everyone was happy. Who did not want to be happy? She had already met the strange people who were grumpy and mean and bitter about everything and didn't like sweet foods. Sakura thought it was depressing to live that way. "It's such a strange concept... I don't understand very well, I'm afraid." She bit the inside of her cheek. "Is that bad?"
Had Sakura been in color a faint pink would now be seen painted against her cheeks at the mention of Naruto. Their "relationship" in this makeshift Pleasantville was so innocent and new that Sakura did not even know what to think of it half the time. She baked him things and enjoyed spending time with him, even just talking or listening to his silly jokes, but they had not gone any deeper than the simplest acts. Not even. It was as though they were the best of friends who knew each other far too well and could not admit they cared any further for one another in that aspect.
Sakura just called him her boyfriend.
"Yes..." she said with a reserved manner, smiling to herself and staring at the table with her shoulders hunched and her hands grasping her skirt tightly on her lap. Just thinking about him seemed to make her happy.
