Heeeeeey a log... what?
Let's Play With Fire [ Complete ]
Who: Raito deathbewithyou and Light god_of_justice What: Raito meeting Light in a random hallway When: During part of the curse and the end of the curse Where: Random Hallway #69 and towards the library Warnings: GOD COMPLEXATION, Kiraness, Raitohotness, flirting, and random clingy
He didn't understand why this curse thing had to be so ungodly weird. Light didn't mind the random out bursting of singing into musical numbers or just the occasional one line verse. The teen didn't bother to go looking through the journals because he knew it would eventually give him a headache that he didn't want to have to deal with. So he was going to go busy himself in the library to rethink some of the pervious events that had just recently occurred.
"How could I have burned paradise?" Light sighed as he realized that the curse had still been going on and wondered when this nonsense will finally end. The teen continued to head towards the library knowing that it can't be too far off now.
It just wouldn't do for him to keep up with all the songs going around. The most inane curse - and he had to be preasent for it. By the time Raito'd pulled away, it was already late, which at least meant not many people would be around. ... Except, of course, himself. Kira had fallen in step behind his other self for a moment, before stopping and asking in a curious tone, "How could you?"
Really, Light must've been skipping out on checking the journals - this was a great time to get to know his other self, and if the situation was a bit odd, well, at least it was something. Those sneaking lessons from his teenage years were finally being put to get use.
The young man froze in his steps red eyes widening at hearing the familiar tone of the voice. Exactly like his but with a much more mature sound. Light never thought that he would even have a multiple of himself here much less one of him that was older. The teen slowly turned around to see if he had been just day dreaming a bit much but seeing the red lettering of the name above his head made everything clear.
Light stared at his other self like a deer caught in headlights. He had been tranced and zoned onto the facial features of the other. It had been clear that he had been older just by the way the other held himself and dressed. He could also feel that other sense of authority, that authority of which he had been scared to hold. To be the God that can't be the God of this world. "Crawling in my skin. These wounds they will not heal. Fear is how I fall. Confusing what is real."
Oh, right. Light had the Eyes, didn't he? Good thing Raito was pretty sure they weren't the same - if those stayed with his other self upon his return, he'd've hated dying two years after defeating L. Though that didn't matter much. Kira had a somewhat amused look on his face, and his reply was more of a wordy hum than singing, "You’re a young man, just shouting in the street, going take on the world some day."
Truthfully, he wasn't quite sure what to say. His other self was obviously shocked near-witless, and Raito didn't have the old, actor-like compassion he used to be able to summon up anymore. Besides, meeting a six-year-old younger self was a bit shattering on his end, too; just.. not as much, apparently.
The teen snorted as he had heard this story before he shook his head. He stared in curious wonder at his older self as he took a slight step back. Light's eyes narrowed a bit as he thought back of what had been said to him by Ryuk those many months ago. "Something about this, so very wrong. I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?"
He shoved his hands into the pockets of his dress pants. He had chose to wear a long loose sweater with pants that had been slightly tight at the top but loose in the legging. Light knew it had still be cold outside but spring would just be right around the corner. The young man smirked slightly before chuckling a slight bit as he shrugged thinking of one other thing he could possibly say at a moment like this. "I wanna play with fire."
Now it was Raito's turn for the amused look to turn into a slight smirk, and though he wasn't the one surprised by his arrival (he'd gotten over seeing Light in the journals a long time ago) there was a slight hesitation on his reply - not that it showed that much. "You want fire? Then come on out, come on out, come on out and play with me." Not exactly the way he wanted to phrase the oppurtunity, but this speaking-in-song thing was harder than he thought it could be. They always just... started with permission. So, obviously, he tried to correct himself in the easiest way possible. "I'm new, nothing compares nor can compete." With a mentally tagged on 'except you,' but whatever curse was holding over them didn't want him to add that.
"You have brought me to that moment where words run dry, to that moment where speech disappears into silence, silence... I have come here, hardly knowing the reason why. In my mind, i've already imagined our bodies entwining defenseless and silent..." Light clomped his mouth shut as he swayed his hips from side to side thinking of what the hell he had just sang to his older self. Something that probably never his lips again.
The teen smirked at him as he took several steps up to him stopping only several inches away. He felt that tug at the back of his mind knowing that it would be wrong to do something out in the hallway but at the same time wondering how it would feel. "Beauty always comes with dark thoughts."
Raito gave a raised eyebrow at Light's actions, though it wasn't until the younger one was a few inches in front of him and done speaking that he himself took a few steps to the side and back, shaking his head slightly with that amused-and-something-else-barely-there look on his face. He took a bit to answer again, but the quality of 'singing' hadn't changed from a low hum. "Come on in, boy, sit on down, and tell me about yourself. That's all for now." There was a break between the two, but at least he could finally find the control to get out the second part.
Light had been slightly surprised that his older counter part hadn't taken up the ordeal. Most people would actually give into the flirts and just do it. He smirked slightly to himself as he took the step forward to stop in front of him again. He could hear the notes in his head and then fade slowly in the background. The teen finally could hear his own thoughts inside of lyrics buzzing in his head. The young man reached a hand out to grab the grey tie that his older self had chosen to wear.
"Are you afraid of desire, Raito? Are you afraid to commit a sin? Not a bit curious as to how it would be like. I'm sure you already know about my story since you are older. So why should we just sit and talk when we can do so much more." The teen wanted to yank on the tie to make himself move closer to press his lips against the others. He knew it would feel like narcissism but he wondered if this is what many of the other people in his life felt around him. Light could easily pull this off as an accident curiosity killed the cat. He had been curious to see if he could feel the same achy desire to press his body against his very own.
Raito'd been a bit too distracted to dodge out of Light's grab, his quiet sigh of relief at not hearing millions of songs dictate his mind cut short when his attention was brought back to Light by both action and words. He gave a pause, as though to think about it, and when his other was finished, his expression was nuetral. "... I'm not afraid of anything." Kira practically purred, eyes narrowing and a hand lifting up as though to take Light's face. "And this wouldn't be so bad, but.. Well. Now's not a good time." And in much the way he used to punch L, Raito went ahead and tried to bring his hand right across Light's face, though the force behind it wasn't nearly as bad. Just a forceful way of saying 'get off of me,' really.
The teen slightly moved his head as he thought Raito would touch his face but what he hadn't expected was the slap. Light's eyes widened at the move as he took several steps back no one had ever slapped him before like this. It had been an entirely different sensation but at the same time had triggered that flare inside of him and his red eyes darkened. A twisted smirk formed on his lips as he stayed in the same position. Kira had always wanted a challenge and this would be the perfect moment. He quickly straightened himself out rolling his shoulders back slightly. "Not a good time?"
The voice had been slightly dark as he took slow strides back towards his older self. He quickly moved down arms pushing out to push Raito into the wall. Kira can play dirty and he didn't mind getting his own hands in the dirt. "Want to rethink that?"
Raito, as always, had watched impassively at the change, noting every part of it - so this was what happened when personalities split and switched. It was true to his nature as his own Kira to pay attention to the details, even as his footing was tripped a bit and his back hit the wall. Eyes narrowed even more, he raised his own arms again, trying to get a hold on "Kira"'s wrist. "No, not really. Not to /offend/ you or anything, Kira." Sure, his voice was light, but one look in his own crimson-tuned eyes would show that start of the anger a Yagami could've been famous for. It was such a good thing "Kira" looked like him - anyone else, and they'd have already found themselves on the floor.
Kira jumped out of the way as he caught sight of the hands raising up to grab hold of his own. He wouldn't let his older self get the upper hand on him. He smirked at the other as he shifted his position. The young man waited until he could move in on his older self. Kira pressed his hips against Raito's sliding slightly up on him. "You shouldn't hurt Light. You can easily take over Light without having to punch him or slap him around. Words. Words move him and that's all you will ever need."
The teen smirked up at him as he waited for what Raito would do or say he didn't mind being in control for now but he didn't mind if his other self could take control as well. Kira rolled his hips forward as his hands roamed up the other's chest slowly. "What are you going to do?"
"And what about you?" Raito practically hissed back, his head tilting back a fraction. The moment his other's hands reached his chest, he tried to flip their positions by pure force, which should've ended in Kira pinned right against the wall he'd been trapped on before. And even if Raito did get the space, he wouldn't do anything but press forward himself, a taunting tone in his voice even as his breath got noticeably harsher. "Is this how you solve your problems? Moving people must be so easy like this."
Kira chuckled as he purred moving against the wall slightly. "Usually people like the whole rub and grind. You don't which is quite interesting. Need to try something else with you. But not now, you bore me." He smirked slightly but as he squirmed slightly against Raito his eyes became soft as if the cold exterior finally left. Light parted his lips slightly to say something but then realized that he was in no position to say anything.
The teen looked at Raito with slightly wide eyes as he tried to remember how exactly he got against the wall. He remembered the slap but everything after that seemed to be a blur. Light clenched his jaw as he hanged his head. "He came out didn't he?"
In answer, Raito relieved the pressure and stepped back, both to take a moment to watch Light and regain his somewhat damaed composure. "... Yes. Personalities don't normally have that control. But Kira's not average, is he?" The last part was musing, as his own switch in how he acted took over. He wasn't awed that he'd met Kira - he /was/ Kira, after all - but there was still a clench in his fist and the fact he continued to stare straight at Light. "How annoying. CAn you even ... tell they're in your mind?"
He sighed in annoyance at the question the only one that he had ever been aware of is the newer one. Anshi? Is that what he was going by? Light bit his bottom lip slightly before slowly looking up at his other. He could feel himself growing smaller or smaller by just knowing that his weaknesses were showing. What more could possibly happen around here? "I.. I'm not really aware of Kira... but he is aware of me. I'm only aware of my other personality."
Light leaned his head back against the wall as his eyes shift to look away muttering one last thing under his breath. "Probably because he is out to kill me half of the time. Damn you, Kira." The teen shakes his head a bit as he looks Raito straight in the face. He usually faces his problems dead on and deals with whatever punishment usually follows. "What did he say to you?"
And even looking Light straight in the eyes, Raito was able to calmly say in an in-between tone, "Nothing much. The norm for a disembodied personality, I'm sure." Just as he finished that sentance, he tugged at his sleeves in a vain attempt to get rid of the impulse to just attack his other self until "Kira" came out again. "Are you ever planning on getting a hold on ... it, Yagami?" This 'Kira' was not the Kira Raito himself knew of; perhaps it was the ground, raw base of his idea of Kira, but Light's would never get called that name aloud. Speaking of the innocent, he'd really have to start keeping a better eye on him. Light, 'Kira', Anshi- the three of them could become a bigger problem than Schuldig if left out of hand.
Light narrowed his eyes at his older self. Self righteous or not, God complex or not. That was the last thing he needed and knew the next words would come out venomously and sting his older self. "Tell me, how did it feel to die?"
Yes, he had gone there. Light had died in different ways so far that he could probably list off certain deaths to his other self. The teen wasn't afraid of death death came naturally here. If anyone was afraid of it Kira would have to be since he would switch out and leave Light to die. He smirked slightly knowing that there could be a possible way of handling the personalities. "There's a witch here that might be able to help but she'll do it for a price."
If he had a passive viewpoint on the whole situation before, there was now a drastic change for the worse. It wasn't so much his expression, besides an angry frown, but just the feeling that if Light overstepped more boundaries, the end wouldn't be favorable. "You can't have much left to give up," Raito replied with pure ice over his words. "So it's out of your control, isn't it."
"It is out of my control. I would rather have this happen to me rather than slowly drive myself insane. Hide out in a corner and eat my own hair. How shameful is that?" Light replied with a hint of sourness. He knew that this meeting probably wouldn't go over to well with the mention of death. The teen chuckled slightly before shaking his head a bit more.
Light shifted against the wall a bit keeping his distance away from his older self. "I've had my fair share of deaths around here. I know that in my future I die and I know who exactly kills me and how it happens. Ryuk told me. He wasn't my Ryuk so he had to have been yours since he came that far in the future."
Raito didn't answer his first question, but it was rather obvious what he thought about it: even if he didn't like having map out how to deal with three instead of one, Light was his other self. A bit younger, but still the same. ... Pride was going to kill him some day; and not 'kill' as in Light's 'deaths.' "I did have a question about that," Raito started, turning his eyes down the empty hall and trying to seem just a bit less threatening than before. "Why isn't Ryuuku hanging around? He must've showed up for the Eyes; has he turned into a sort of summoned creature?" A big of sarcasm at the end, but even Kira could lighten just a bit. "And I don't have to tell you anything. Good." Something would die if he had to retell that event.
"He did only show up for the Eyes but like everyone else that has come and gone here he must have went back to his own time. That's what happens around these parts." Light sighed as he stared at his older self. He didn't know what more to tell his other self since he didn't know what else others would have told him. "What do you know about this place?"
The teen looked at the other and felt an urge to just do something rather than be stuck against the wall. Light shifted forward slightly he didn't know why but he wanted to wrap his arms around his older self and just relax against him. The young man moved out his arms slightly to see what Raito would do.
"Everything said on the--" And here Raito's earlier near-relaxedness disappeared, replaced by a strong tensing, and he couldn't help but give Light a glare, though this time there was no shoving or slapping in retribution. As long as the arms were kept to a parody of a hug, that was. He looked away, continuing on in a more frail tone. "-- Journals. Besides your and a few others' unhackable ones, of course. What else is there?" He wouldn't mention his meet with Schuldig, but the question was still out there.
The young man could feel the tensing but he didn't care he slowly moved in and placed his head against Raito's chest as he kept his hands in the middle of the other's back. "Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you... I won't do anything unless you ask for it. I don't know what else there could be. This place is unnatural and unpredictable. So you tell me. But I will tell you one thing..." Light replied as he stayed close to his older self sniffing his shirt slightly. "There is a Death Note here."
Raito let out a sigh as though he was defeated, though he didn't give his other self any reaction besides that. Let Light lean all he wanted. He was just being jumpy after Misa and Matsuda's betrayal; no need to take it out on ... well, technically, himself. -- And wait. Here Kira did look down at Yagami, suddenly interested. "I would've thought it got destroyed. Does someone have it?" Obviously Light didn't, and Raito hadn't found many hints as to who it was.
Light looked slowly up at his older self with a wide smile. "I have mine. My Death Note followed me here but it's hidden. I don't even know where it is. But I'm sure if I were to ask within reason I'll be told where it is." He moved away from Raito leaning against the wall as he looked up at the ceiling knowing that asking Duo would take a lot of effort. He kept staring up at the ceiling as he thought of a question to ask his older self. "Did you talk to anyone by the name of Duo?"
"Yes, I room with him." Light replied softly before looking at his other self so he did know quite a few more things. But it was common knowledge for anyone to know that they were rooming together. Everyone knew they were boyfriends.. but their relationship had been slightly unstable for a while thanks to him. Light didn't know what to really call their relationship but he knew where he could run back to but it would be a headache but it would be a good headache. "So if you talked to him then you know how stubborn he is."
Raito gave a soft 'hmph,' though it really wasn't that consending at all. "I didn't talk to him that long. Just enough so he got our names and ages laid out." He'd been one of the first to realize he wasn't Light, too. Of course, once that knowledge had gotten out, it wasn't so secret, but the fact remained.
"Of course, he's nosy that way. I suggest to not get in his way, Raito, it's for you own good." Light looked straight in his eyes to let him know that he wasn't joking and that it had been the truth. He hadn't seen Duo kill anyone here yet and he didn't need his older self to get himself on the list to be the first one to be killed by his potential boyfriend. "So after this meeting... what exactly are you going to do?"
"If you think so," Raito allowed, not quite sure what his stance towards Light would be; on one hand, he acted somewhat ignorant and... like an 18-year-old. But on the other - he was himself, and even Kira would die before he'd see himself gone. "And I'm not quite sure." Back to collecting information, but he wasn't sure what all he had left to do. "You?"
"Library. That's where I was going. Guess I'll be going there to gather my thoughts and spit them out into a notebook." Light shrugged his shoulders slightly as he moved off towards the side and moved past his older self slightly. He looked over his shoulder at him. "Unless you want company I'll stick around."
There was no debate. Even if he wasn't sure what to think of Light - this seemed to be the status most people he planned on getting to know were at - Raito had no qualms against immediately agreeing and following along. "Does the library really have all the books?" It'd been too crowded to go into before; some foggy, color-shifting redhead had sat in there for a week.
The young man smiled widely as he lead his older self towards the library. He wondered what more could probably come out of his other self. Light knew that he had to take things differently around him since he was clearly much more mature and could handle himself better then some of the others here. What scared him though was the slight attraction that could be considered narcissism but at the same time what was wrong with it? What can I say? I am hot no doubt in that kind of thing. Although this is going to be one tough nut to crack.
