He never understood how people could put so much emphasis on the idea of kissing someone -it wasn't as if it was anything great or important or life-altering. The part that needed emphasized was the emotion behind it. A kiss given out of parental love was different than one given out of romantic love, a kiss given out of any love was different than one backed by hate, and all of those were different from one that had no emotion at all behind it. If someone had told him that kissing his brother would give him an opening to kill him, Sasuke'd have probably done it (and then killed the person who told him that if it didn't work). The act itself wasn't a big deal; it was the same as any other human-committed act.
So why was she looking at him like that?
"That's why I asked if you could handle awkward situations," he muttered, lowering his gaze to the floor. He knew where his own emotions lay, and he knew he could cast them aside without a backward glance. Hers on the other hand... She wasn't like him. She got worked up over things, she was more open, more trusting. It had been a bad move on his part, and he was starting to realize that he'd crossed a line he hadn't meant to cross. "I can... I'm gonna go now. Your roommate might be back soon, and I'd rather not be here when that happens."
