Sakura was known for being a bright girl back in Konoha. She had done extremely well during her Academy years and aced every examination. She could recite the shinobi laws perfectly to anyone who challenged her without even batting an eye. She knew how to control her chakra to insanely precise measures and was quickly becoming a young Healer prodigy in her village. She could do all those things and so much more but, in the end, when it came down to the male population and her love life... she didn't get it. At all. She had never understood it, really, and it would probably take her forever to completely understand what made men tick. It didn't help that all the men in her life had such extreme personalities that it was too difficult to pinpoint the general consensus - other than the obvious. And this? This was definitely one of those times.
A kiss had been one of the last things Sakura had been expecting from him of all people. The thought hadn't even come close to crossing her mind. Sasuke wasn't like that, she would remind herself. He could never come close to liking a pathetic girl like her, even if she had changed drastically since the days they were Genin. He had always been one of those people who didn't prioritize girls as important in his life and would rather train than go on a date or even spend time with a girl. Sakura had learned to give up on pursuing that part of him sometime during the past three years, though she wasn't sure when. That side of her had simply melted away as she focused on becoming stronger; but since coming here, to this damn place, and seeing him again (twice, now) she hated how it was almost inevitable for her heart to screw her over. Again.
She gasped into the kiss, (or at least tried to; it came out as a muffled sound) eyes open wide and disbelieving. She didn't care what sort of "love curse" this building had created in the past in order to steal Sakura's first ... and second kisses, but this was her first real kiss. Those other two had meant nothing to her. She didn't really love the people she had been paired with, but Sasuke was another matter...
He was right. She desperately wanted to punch him on first instinct but when her brain finally registered the situation and he had pulled back, all she could do was stand and stare, mouth open slightly and green eyes piercing his face from shock. She didn't know what to say. What was she SUPPOSED to say? He hadn't been forcing or rough with her. It was gentle, sweet, warm and unexpected in the best of ways, so she didn't find reason to hurt him. It also did not help that a flurry of past emotions were suddenly clouding her vision. Sakura knew what she wanted to do but her stiff body suddenly didn't feel like moving to embrace him again.
So, in the end, all that she was able to do was stutter out a very amazed: "S... Sasuke-kun..."
