When the door opened and he realized he'd gotten the room right, Sasuke had to grit his teeth and take a deep breath to keep himself from turning around and bolting back to his own room. Her question startled him, keeping him from acting on that impulse. "I've died twice, and neither time did I have it with me, so I'm not risking that again. Besides, I said I wasn't going anywhere without it." He'd meant it, too: the only place the sword didn't go was the shower, but that was because he didn't want it to rust... but she didn't need to know that. "If I don't have to use it, then so much the better. At least I feel safer knowing I have it with me."
He peered past her into the room, his expression blank but his eyes curious, "Are you sure your roommate's not here?" There were some things that were known to both him and Sakura now, but there were others that only he knew. It was those things that had him leery of talking around others.
Maybe if things went well, he'd tell her the decision he'd come to.
