"Being busy isn't really an excuse, but thanks." Said in the hushed manner one would often take when utterly flattered, already fidgeting even as he turned away from the direction of the lobby, and, thusly, Akito. That didn't mean he missed what the blue-haired teen said after that - he kept quiet, for once, at least until the note about breakfast, in which got the gunman nodding furiously.
"Yeah! There's a buffet in the cafeteria, and... you really do need to start eating more, even if it is boring. You did eat before this, right?" He was going to have to break Akito of that habit - really, it just wasn't healthy to go that long. As the last sentence hit his ears, Vash went blank for a moment, before grin rivaling the one that had previously been on his face broke out.
It wasn't like he needed to say anything to that last part - the smile made up for it, in the Plant's mind, and he even 'dedicated' a moment of companion-orientated silence to it... before dropping the metaphorical bomb in the conversation. (Perhaps it had been less of a happy pause and more of a time for thinking of wording.)
"Ah... speaking of company..." Oh, right, he /hadn't/ said anything about Wolfwood. Whoops. Near one to hide the more open emotions, Vash literally drooped in embarrassment, even if Akito hadn't said anything in return.
