Asuka had planned on keeping her word about trying not to fight with Kaworu. It had been on the top of her list and her plan to do so was to avoid him completely. The two couldn't seem to spend more then five seconds with one another without some sort of snippy comment, and if he started something, she wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to hold back. So to be told that he would meet them at the cafeteria once they got there had not settled well with her and she had been staring at the words, her eye brow twitching gently and her frustrations slightly high. She could do this! She was better than Kaworu and she would prove it by staying calm and behaving peacefully.
Or at least she'd try.
Smoothing out her hair some and attempting to stop that irritating twitch, she got so preoccupied in making herself look alright (which included hiding the fact that she had actually been crying over the fact that Kaji had been here before, alive and well and... not... shot. The thought of having missed seeing him just one last time made her heart practically break.) that she nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard the knock on the door. "Scheiste!" She muttered to herself in German, shuffling herself towards the door and pulling it open.
She stared at Shinji for a moment, her eyes unreadable as she tried to think of what to do or say. Even after having seen him once, she had known things were... a bit different then they had been in their world that she'd left. She didn't quite know what and had yet to ask him just what it was that he did and didn't remember, but some part of her knew that the last year at least was her knowledge and her knowledge alone. Clearing her throat, she pushed her way out, closing the door behind her and putting her hands on her hips.
"Well don't just stand there all day looking dumb! I'm hungry!"
