Who: Kilik (youare_epicfail), Rtas 'Vadum (shipmaster) What: Meeting between Kilik and Rtas after an unintended collision. When: A few days back when Angewoman was flying about Where: In the city somewhere Warnings: None really
Rtas 'Vadum : 'Vadum stretched a bit as he walked there, casting his gaze about the street of this strange human city, familiarising himself with the surrounds. Thinking on the various things he had learned so far about this place before thoughts drifted to his home, yearning to return there see that it was safe, looking to the sky as he did. Shaking his head of such thoughts he looked back down continued on, his long strides carrying him quickly through the streets of the city.
Kilik: Maybe the large.. whatever it was, should have looked up a moment longer because a certain storm rider, distracted by something in the sky, that couldn't really have been an angel could it?, had just missed the edge of the roof he had been planing on using to propel himself safely across the gap that made up the street and was instead sailing straight towards the tall creature's head. Twisting in the air, much like a falling cat would Kilik managed to change his trajectory enough to avoid hitting the stranger head on and instead glanced off of the shoulder armor before hitting the road with less grace and a bigger cloud of dust than the gravity child would have liked.
Rtas 'Vadum: Not noticing the incoming human until the last moment as he glanced off his shoulder, 'Vadum cursed himself for being so careless as he staggered a single step to the side from the glancing impact and instinctively lowered himself into a combat ready stance the unengaged hilt of his energy blade in hand as he turned to face the human. Relaxing his stance a bit as he saw the other, "I should have been more vigilant, are you injured at all there human?" he asked, inwardly still berating himself at his carelessness.
Kilik: Straightening from the crouch he had landed in Kilik brushed the dust off of his robe, looking up and then even further up to the face of the....that had to be an alien. "I'm fine." He answered after a moment, trying not to gape and sketching a small bow at his unintentional collision buddy. "I'm sorry for hitting you like that." he added. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" After all there was the armour and the body that looked as if whoever was inside the armour could easily break him in half.
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum inclined his head slightly in reply as the other brushed himself off, returning the hilt of his energy blade to its place at his side. "I am glad to hear that then, it is no problem, as I said I should have been more vigilant," he replied before giving an amused chuckle, "No, it would take a lot more than that to cause injury," shaking his head there and giving an amused click of his two remaining mandibles, "I take it that you are another of the residents of this place?"
Kilik : "I am....my name is Kilik." The little pink haired human nodded and introduced himself, giving up on trying to be polite for the moment and just staring at this strange....alien. "May I ask who and....what you are?"
Rtas 'Vadum: 'A pleasure to meet you then Kilik, despite the circumstances of meeting," 'Vadum replied, inclining his armoured head in greeting before introducing himself in return, "I am Rtas 'Vadum, of the Sangheili," gazing down at the small human with slight amusement.
Kilik: "The pleasure is all mine." Kilik bowed again. "I'm sorry for my curiosity but you are the first...non human I have encountered here." Leaning against a hand wall he rested his head against it to be more comfortable while looking at Rtas face and pulled his orange sunglasses off, stashing them away in a pocket. "You're not from earth, are you?"
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum gave a thoughtful "mmm.." as he stood there watching the other, "It is of no concern, knowledge is a useful tool to have," he replied as the other rested against the wall, "Indeed? Are there not other non-humans here?" he asked curious himself as to that before shaking his head softly, "Earth is not my home planet no, I come from the planet of Sangheilios," Raising his head to look to the sky then for a moment, before looking back to Kilik, "My carrier was bound away from Earth towards my homeplanet before I arrived here.."
Kilik: "I agree." Kilik nodded, in his mind knowledge was worth more than gold and more dangerous than any weapon at times. "What were you doing on earth? And how long were you away from ..Sangheilios?" He pronounced the word carefully before adding another question. "Is it very different from earth?"
Rtas 'Vadum: Inclining his head a brief moment 'Vadum thought back on what had happened at Earth, "I lead my fleet there to stop an infestation of flood from spreading and devouring it, after a flood infected ship had escaped and crashed there," he replied shaking his head before he went on, "Many years I've been away from my homeworld, it is a fairly different world to that of Earth from what I have seen, though what Earth cities I have seen lie mostly in ruins.."
Kilik: Listening quietly Kilik wondered how far in the future Rtas time was, and which of the many different realities it belonged to. "The flood? I've never heard of that..." Though he could easily imagine most of the earth city in ruins - if anybody ever got hold of the Sky Regalia... no, he didn't want to think about it while he was trapped here, he shook his head. "And yes...apparently there are somewhat humanoid...hedgehogs, foxes and other...creatures here as well as humans with strange abilities.
Rtas 'Vadum: "The flood? A parasitic life form that devours and consumes all life that it comes across, turning those it has consumed into mindless puppets against those who were brothers in arms in life, it is from such an encounter I received this wound," he explained drawing up a long fingered hand to indicate the missing left mandibles, before nodding softly, "Indeed? It is good to know I am not the only non human to be drawn here then.."
Kilik: "That sounds..." Arms sliding around himself Kilik shiver faintly at Rtas description, "Horrible." He shook his head. "From what I can tell everybody who has come here is in one way or another not 'normal' - even the humans. Some have strange abilities, others aren't quite...natural." He shrugged. "You might stand out because of the way you look but other than that... we would all be considered 'different'. "
Rtas 'Vadum: "It is a horror I would never wish upon any being, it has been stopped or at the very least contained for now," he replied as he gazed to the other, shaking his head softly before listening as Kilik went on, "Mmm..interesting..in time I suppose I will see how each is different, but for now, perhaps tell me more of yourself?"
Kilik: "Myself?" Blinking wide cross cut eyes Kilik considered what to tell the large, but apparently friendly alien. "You could say I'm an escaped lab experiement." He finally offered with a half hearted smile. "The Gravity Children - we were created to explore the lost energy and how to regain it."
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum gazed down to him thoughtfully and curiously at the sight of Kiliks cross cut eyes there, nodding softly as the other spoke, "Ah indeed? Gravity Children..an interesting name...what is this lost energy?" he asked in return, moving to lean back against the lampost beside him, looking over the other as he did.
Kilik: "Well...the energy that is converted into heat instead of whatver you actually want it to be...like light in case of a lightbulb or a current inside of electrical appliances." Shrugging as if it didn't really concern himself Kilik reached down and unbuckled one of the ATs he was wearing, offering it to Rtas. "They managed to reduce the percentage of it in these, that is why such a small but strong motor could be built."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed..so in essence they created you in order to explore the possibility of making things more efficient?" He asked cocking his head in a manner as if he was raising an eyebrow, taking the offered ATs and looking over them for a moment before handing it back, "Mmm..indeed..an interesting mode of transport, I would assume it would take much skill to utilise effectively given the balance needed for the speed you collided with me at,"
Kilik: Slipping back into the ATs, strange how one could feel almost naked without them, Kilik nodded. "We've had a lot of time to practice but lately it is getting even popular with the people in the hotel." So far nobody seemed to have gotten seriously injured and that was something to be grateful for. "I'm sure if you are ever interested the cupboard could create one in your size."
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum watched the other put the AT's back on, nodding softly, "Ah indeed...it could be interesting to explore such, though I doubt such a thing would be suited to my different physique to that of a humans," he replied thoughtfully, "It is interesting to see that the cupboards can supply such complex objects as those and even such as this," drawing the hilt of the energy blade there for meaning, "it can only be wondered if this place can supply vehicles in a similar way to such objects,"
Kilik: "Oh, those are not from the closet, they came with me." Kilik corrected as he straightened, giving Rtas feet a curious look. "But I am reasonably sure if you show me your feet the closet can give me something to work with that I can rig for you."
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum nodded slowly, "Indeed, all that came with me was my armour...mmm..it may be interesting to try though I doubt they would be suited to my non human physique," he replied showing his two toe'd almost hoof like boot there.
Kilik: "Interesting." Crouching to get a closer look Kilik tilted his head to study the alien foot. "Well while it is somewhat different you are still a Bi-ped, so I don't think it is impossible." Straightening again he actually smiled a little at the challenge. "If you have some time to spare I will see what I can do - but I will need to bother you quite a bit since I have no model for feet like yours."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Mmm..indeed, well it would seem that time is something that is in abundance at present that could be arranged," Nodding softly as he watched Kilik as he crouched closer "it would be useful to have a means of transport to travel the city with greater speed than just by foot, very well if you wish it so be it," he replied with something of an amused quirk to his mandibles.
Kilik: Looking back up Kilik was surprised but pleased that he could read the alien face well enough to see that hint of amusement. "It is indeed - which is why I want to keep from getting rusty." He crosses his arms behind his back. "And if you don't mind you can tell me more about your time while I work."
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum gave a nod, "It is never good to let a skill waste away in idleness...mmm..very well, perhaps you might tell me more of your own as well," he replied before pushing away from the lamppost there and stretching a bit as he stood there, watching the other for a moment longer before casting his gaze up again, noting the winged creature that was flying high above before looking back to Kilik.
Kilik: "Of course - I am quite an avid student of humanity so I hope I can answer any questions you may have." Glancing back up Kilik noted the angel as well. "I wonder what that is.."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed..it shall be interesting to learn of your time," Looking back up to the flying creature he watched it for a moment longer before looking back to Kilik, "It appears to be a winged humanoid..perhaps it is another of the residents?"
Kilik: "None I have seen before." And surely somebody would have mentioned a real to god angel to him?. "But then I haven't been a resident here that long compared to some." Shaking his head he looked down a little. "Where you on your way somewhere?"
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed..but no matter, if they are we will see them in time" he replied looking down to Kilik there, shaking his head softly, "No where in particular, I was merely familiarising myself with the area, and yourself? Was there somewhere in particular you were heading before the collision that was our meeting?"
Kilik: "Much the same, the constant hubub of the hotel was making me feel a little claustrophobic." Not to mention the number of people there that just plainly grated on his nerves. "It seems like a giant ant hill at times."
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum gave a nod of understanding, "Ah indeed..such a vast number of people from different backgrounds is bound to cause such.." he replied before shrugging, "no matter though, when would be a suitable time for a start on construction for such?" he asked indicating the AT's.
Kilik: "As soon as I get back really - there is not a lot else to do around here. Maybe I could take a cast of your lower leg, would that be alright?" Turning back towards the hotel Kilik slowly rolled a few feet in that direction.
Rtas 'Vadum: "Mmm..very well, if it will aid you," Turning back as well and taking a step after him, "there are surely things that can be done, but no matter...where in the hotel are you situated?" he asked with a soft chuckle as he followed.
Kilik: "The A tower, 20th floor room 20." Twisting around Kilik rode backwards for a moment before facing ahead again. "And you?"
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum nodded as he followed easily along after Kilik, "the seventeenth floor, room seven of the same tower," he replied as he stretched his neck a bit before shaking his head, "It would seem that our rooms are in relatively close proximity compared to many others,"
Kilik: "Maybe it has to do with the timining of arrival." Shrugging faintly Kilik sped up a little so Rtas could walk at a normal speed for him. "It is hard to figure out why anything happens in this place."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Perhaps so" Speeding up to his normal striding pace 'Vadum inclined his head, "Indeed..it does seem a strange place where little order exists to things..I do not know enough of this place to truelly comment on it though,"
Kilik: "Not a lot of people seem to - this place has a set of rules all of its own, where the only constant is that things can always get worse." He pointed out. "Otherwise it might be easier to find a way out of here."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed..I shall have to keep that in mind then...quite so.." 'Vadum nodded, crossing his arms as he walked getting a thoughtful look, "I know that it seems many have arrived, but are there cases where others leave?"
Kilik: "There are." Like Nike, whose things had simply disappeared one night, gone by the time Kilik had woken up in the morning. "But apparently they also come back again at times - apparently time does not move from where we come from until we return, though we lose all memory of this place, at least until we come back here." He explained, or to be honest, repeat what he had been told himself.
Rtas 'Vadum: 'Vadum nodded slowly and thoughtfully on what Kilik said, "Indeed?...a strange thought that time would stand still even as it moves around us here..I wonder on the intent of those who brought us here if we are to forget all we remember from our time here.." he pondered aloud even as he strode along.
Kilik: "One of the theories is that we are here as part of some behavioural stuy. At least that would explain the random curses." Frowning Kilik stared at the road ahead of them. "Or maybe it is simple to entertain some twisted, sick psychopaths."
Rtas 'Vadum: "An understandable theory if so, I've yet to encounter one of these...'curses' as yet though," he replied shaking his head before giving a chuckle, "if so, such psychopaths would want to be able to defend themselves should they ever be found.." 'Vadum gave a click of his mandibles and looked to the sky and the creature flying above once more before looking back to Kilik as he strode along after him.
Kilik: "They are....disturbing." Kilik shook his head. "If you are lucky they won't affect you, but then I wouldn't be sure about that. As for defenses...if the ones responsible for all this really are those ghosts I would say they have found the best possible defense. It is difficult to fight something you can't touch, see or hear."
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed? I suppose we shall see when the next curse strikes.." 'Vadum replied thoughtfully before giving an amused click of his mandibles, "Quite so..an interesting opponenet indeed.." Shaking his head as he strode along behind Kilik, the Hotel getting closer in the distance.
Kilik: "Lets hope it won't be any time soon." That was all Kilik had to say on the matter of curses, especially considering the way the last one could still be seen lingering here or there.
Rtas 'Vadum: "Indeed.." nodding softly and thoughtfully as he strode along behind Kilik, noting his his response before looking to the Hotel as it drew closer and closer.
