The hawk closes his eyes at that little whisper, feels every shaky breath from him as he holds him close. The worst thing he could do would be to hold it in - no matter how hard he was trying now - even if it was only going to be for the next twenty-four hours.
"...some people don't care for what's right, Silver. She didn't deserve it, nobody did," he says softly, feeling the hedgehog shift a little as he wipes his eyes. And it takes...all he has in him not to sigh at that last little phrase, drawing back to stare at those golden eyes.
"You're right, it doesn't, and it hurts, but we can't stay here moping over it when we know she'll back back soon," he says, almost curtly as he stands, holding out a hand for the other.
