It was a good sign that Asuka had finally simply given in and broke down, in Sakura's opinion. Keeping in such strong emotions was what tore up a human soul from the inside out. Throughout her mere sixteen years, Sakura had watched plenty of shinobi suffer with themselves because of the fact that shinobi were supposed to hide their emotions. She used to preach that rule almost to the point where she actually thought she believed it herself, but then someone like Naruto came along and proved the entire theory wrong. She could only hope that someone like Asuka who obviously had a lot of emotional baggage would be able to comprehend such a thing.
As she leaned into her, Sakura wrapped her other arm around her too and simply held her as she spoke in choppy sentences. She had no idea what Asuka was talking about, or who, but one thing she did understand was that Asuka did not know how to be loved properly. It was such a sad thought Sakura could not relate to through personal experience, though she still knew what loneliness did to people. She had grown up with a loving family and friends, people she would die for... but Asuka... just seemed... so damaged.
She still did not speak for a while, not sure what she should say or if she should say anything at all, but silence was sometimes also discomforting. "Who?" She chose to ask with one comforting word, keeping her voice low and not intimidating.
