Bucky & Steve
Steve didn't particularly want to see the fireworks, all told. The sounds reminded him too much of bombs and gunfire for him to really enjoy it and the fact that Tony had crafted it all sort of made him uneasy. Who knew what sort of display he crafted and how embarrassing it was going to be for him. At least Pepper had put together a really nice party for him aside from that. He was willing to stand through the fireworks for her sake, but when Bucky came up to him and told him to run, it was a no brainer.
With a grin, he followed easily, a smile prominent on his lips. This was what he loved about his birthday, spending time with Bucky. They'd used to sneak up to the roof or sit on the fire escape to watch the fireworks, but hiding in the shadows of the boardwalk was just as good. He was surprised by the kiss because of how quick it was, but it made him smile all the same.
"Thanks, Buck," he replied, taking a step forward to erase the distance between them. They were tucked away in the shadows and no one would notice them just yet. They had a few minutes. "I only feel slighted because that wasn't much of a kiss," Steve teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief and desire. It was all still so new, but it felt right.
