Pepper (and George) & Clint Barton
Pepper hadn't even noticed Clint walking their way until he spoke, but she grinned all the same. She really liked the archer and it was good to see him out and about. He was just as much a part of their family as anyone else, but sometimes she wondered if maybe he wasn't used to having a family at all, given that he tended to stay on the fringes most of the time.
"Yea!" George replied enthusiastically, his popsicle melting rather quickly even though he was trying to eat it. "We're gonna sing Happy Birthday to Mr Steve soon, right?" He directed the question to Pepper, which made her smile.
"Just before the fireworks start. Mr Tony cooked up quite the display," she informed the little boy. She looked over to Clint and added, "I told him to take it easy, but I'm sure he listened to exactly none of my speech." She rolled her eyes good-naturedly. It'd be Tony's own fault if he annoyed Steve, but Pepper was fairly certain he'd shown at least a little bit of restraint.
"Want to take a load off? Stay a while?" she asked Clint, patting the bit of wood next to her.
