Mary and Open (Multiples Ok)
Later on in the evening, Mary had managed to reel George in so that he would at least watch fireworks with her. She couldn't recall if George had ever seen fireworks before and she wondered if he would be scared by them. They'd moved down to the beach in order to get a better view of the display. George sat in her lap, squirming as he waited impatiently. He was truly getting to be a typical boy.
"Sit properly," Mary said quietly to him and he stopped fidgeting with a sigh. Mary smoothed his hair back and then kissed the crown of his head. He was growing and she found that she wanted to keep him little. She wondered if he would always be this cute and if he would turn out to look anything like his father. He already did. Mary hoped he would be the man his father was as well.
She looked up and smiled as someone came to sit down next to her. "Ready for the show?"
