Who: Margaery & Madeline What: Reunion time. When: 10/18 – early evening Where: the Mentalist tent
Margaery... Margo...
The voice brought the redhead's eyes up, had her searching the little shop for a matching face. She could have sworn she had heard her name, that she had heard her sister's voice. But Madeline wasn't there; of course she wasn't. She had been looking for Maddy for weeks. What were the odds that she would just turn up in a Chicago pawn shop?
Margo frowned, returning her attention to the silver pendant she had been studying. It was beautiful, there was no doubt. And the moment she touched it, she knew she had to have it – the history that echoed through it pulled at her. She saw flashes of green hills, castles of hewn stone overlooking lush valleys. A woman with reddish hair and ruddy cheeks. A man with a tartan sash. The feeling of romance and loyalty was intoxicating.
Margaery!
Her eyes flickered open. This time there was no mistake. The sharp tone, the way it flashed through her mind like lightning. She could feel Maddy in a way that she hadn't since the day she had left Las Vegas.
Detroit. You belong in Detroit. Come to the island. You belong with us. Come home, Margo. Come home!
----
It had taken the last of her savings to get to Detroit. Once she was there, at least it wasn't difficult to find 'the island'. A few questions had pointed her toward Belle Isle, and soon she found herself looking up at the bright lights of a traveling circus. It was beautiful... and weird. Had her sister really called her all this way, drawn her to another state... for a circus?
Still, there was something about it that pulled to her. The blonde at the ticket-booth had smiled so warmly at her, ushering her into the curtained tunnel without charging her anything. Management is waiting, she had said, seeming pleased with herself. It was strange, but it felt right in a way that Margo could hardly describe. Soon she was strolling the grounds, wide-eyed at the different spectacles.
She let that feeling guide her away from the crowd, toward a trailer among a series of other trailers. With only a little hesitation, Margo stepped inside.
----
Back in the crisp, cool air, Margo wandered. She didn't want to go to her trailer, despite the key in her pocket. She wanted to find Maddy. Her sister had called to her, she had known that Margo needed her family – as far as she was concerned, there was no more time to waste. Not when she had just signed on to yet another impulsive adventure.
It was a simple enough matter to find the right tent – all it took was a few questions. And then she was ducking inside, watching the man on the stage for a moment before she wound herself through the crowd, moving until she could slip behind the curtained-off 'backstage' area. Madeline? Maddy, where are you? She was close enough to feel the psychic link, close enough to reach for the feeling of her sister.
