Who: Isaac and Derek
Where: Hale house, in and around Derek's room
When: Week 5, Mon, at 2am
Why: Isaac has a nightmare
Warning: Dreams of physical abuse, sexual content.
It had taken hours for Isaac to fall asleep. He had tried to keep himself busy, puttering around the house, until one of the older house slaves had seen the bags under his eyes, and insisted he go to bed. He knew he was being dumb. The man he had seen in town didn't even look all that much like his former Master, but the split second before he had gotten a better look, had put his whole body on high alert, sending his heart racing and his breath coming fast. A split second, that was all it took to convince Isaac's mind that he was back with that man, under the lash, and bleeding. Within a half hour of finally falling asleep, Isaac's mind was there again.
"Thought you could escape me, did you, you useless little whore?" the man screamed, alcohol strong on his breath. It was always so much worse when he was drinking. Isaac tried to curl up in a ball, making himself a smaller target. The dream made it all feel fuzzy, but no less real. There had been many times that the pain had made it fuzzy.
"No Master," Isaac cried, shedding tears at how easily he abandoned Derek, when faced with the threat of his old Master again. He had sworn he would never give in again, but he was weak... useless, just like the old man said. "I'm sorry."
Pain shot through him, a whip crack of electricity, sharp enough to rattle Isaac's teeth. He screamed and sobbed, trying to edge away. It came down again, and he sprawled forward, onto the floor. For the first time, Isaac realized that he wasn't bound. His hands and legs were free, uncuffed, and he took his chance. He barrelled past the twisted face of his old Master, tearing down the hallway. The man's voice echoed behind him, as he collapsed in front of a closed door. Derek's door?
"You'll never escape, boy...."
