Entry tags:character: allison argent, character: emerson dewitt, character: eterna westenra (dropped), character: kenzi (dropped), location: westenra estate (dropped), thread: complete, |week: 02, ~date: 07/july 18

Who: Emerson, Eterna, and Allison with a chance of Kenzi!
Where: Eterna's Home
When: Week 2, Thursday Evening
Why: Emerson told Allison that he and Eterna play Scrabble every other Thursday, and he aims to prove that Emerson DeWitt never tells a lie.
Warning: Language, The Eterna Factor, discussion of slavery, TBA

Emerson flicked a cigarette butt somewhere into the woods that surrounded Eterna's mansion, sure to extinguish it lest he be responsible for the second, greatest forest fire to ever grace Crescent Hills' history. As he jogged up to the front steps, the Scrabble board game tucked under one arm, yawned, cracking his neck before knocking loudly on the front door. He was clad in the appropriate attire for the occasion, which just so happened to be the hobo-chic attire he wore to nearly every occasion.

Part of him was kind of curious to see how Eterna's new addition handled herself. Contrary to popular belief, he didn't hate the vampire. It was actually the opposite. He had fun being around her because she was the most entertaining person to, well, torment with splendor that was Emerson DeWitt. He imagined it wasn't quite the same for those she actually purchased to be her slaves. Maybe he'd be able to at least give them a little break, though he imagined it would be worse if he actually beat their mistress at the game.

Allison blushed at the compliment, feeling almost confused at how comfortable this whole thing felt. She looked at the tiles, biting her lip as nothing looked as though it could give a good word, and she didn't want to let Emerson down. A second later, she placed 'fee' underneath whines, giving 'we' and 'she', counting up to 23 points. They were still trailing behind, but she sat back, glancing at Eterna.

"Don't give yourself such a hard time, darling. You could be intelligent too if you could be bothered" Eterna smiled slightly and then nodded at Allison in approval of her word. The fact that it opened up the triple word score for her was of little consequence. Eterna doubted she could keep raking in the big numbers for much longer after this move as they were running out of tiles and space.

She spelt out 'Vat' with the 'v' in the triple word space in the bottom left corner, also spelling 'fa' and 'wet' and giving her a decent 29 points.

Emerson only raised his eyebrow at Eterna. "My dear lady, but that would be depriving the village of its much-needed idiot." It being his turn, Emerson reverted to his old, four-letter ways, setting tiles to spell "Deli" down from the "d" in "demure."

Allison watched the letters that Eterna placed, the last word she wasn't sure of how intentional it was, but it made her slip a hand between her legs, feeling some dampness, but she quickly wiped it away on her leg, leaning in to focus on the word Emerson was making.

"Six." She whispered, nervously, leaning into him, having a look over what letters were left.

"I suppose I would rather you were the village idiot than someone with even more qualification for the job" Eterna chuckled lightly, she sipped from her glass of blood momentarily, inhaling deeply through her nose. She wasn't smelling the blood however, more the potency of Allison's arousal in the air. Emerson would most likely not have noticed the slave's hand check beneath her skirt and as a witch, she doubted he could smell it on her.

Eterna placed the word 'Boat' using the 't' in pasta as she mused over Allison's apparent attraction to Emerson.

"It's a tough job, but someone has to do it and occasionally women give me pity sex," Emerson answered with an exaggerated sigh, draping the hand that wasn't clutching his whiskey over his heart. "I also occasionally double as That Douche with an Acoustic Guitar on open mic night."

The humorous quips taken care of for that round, Emerson leaned in to Allison. "Was that your word, or was my goddamn deli only worth six points?" he whispered loudly so that Eterna wouldn't think he was trying to hone in on her girl. She was cute and obviously not repelled by him, but he wasn't one of those handsy with the slaves kind of guy.

"Yours, sir." She bit her lip, lowering her head slightly, blushing. She was definitely attractive, but she tried to conceal that fact from Eterna - she knew she wouldn't let it lie if she knew.

Tilting her head, she played 'bangs', for 34 points, placing it using the s from 'pasta', creating 'ab', 'no' and 'gaby' in the process. She wasn't sure the last was a word, but she wanted to try and score high for Emerson.

"Sorry, pet, proper nouns are not allowed. Nice try though" Eterna said, picking the tiles back up and handing them to her before taking her own turn. She spelt out 'kor' using the 'k' from 'slinked' and also spelling 'ox' and 'ref' giving her 22 points. The board was starting to get very crowded on one side and was making things far more difficult.

"Give it another go. You're doing better than I am," Emerson encouraged Allison, narrowing his eyes at the board. Fucking Scrabble. He looked up at Eterna, grinning all of a sudden.

"You sure this isn't some kind of enchanted Scrabble board? Because I refuse to believe you're doing this well when faced my flawless, four-letter words on non-combo tiles strategy."

Allison nodded, her head on his shoulder comfortably, and she picked up some letters, blushing a little, placing 'lust' at the bottom right, making 'firers' as well. She sat back again, satisfied with her word, counting up 20 points.

Eterna chuckled at Allison's choice of words and started to lay down her response as she replied to Emerson.

"You're the only one able to enchant things here. Are you orchestrating your own demise, my dear?" Eterna smiled, she wouldn't put it past him in all honesty. She knew the man was far more competent than he would ever let on.

She placed the word 'eat' to the left of 'boat' also making 'ab' and 'to'.

Emerson laughed out loud at that, leaning back slightly as he looked down at the board. Allison and Eterna with their word placements tonight. The battle was amusing, and he admited Allison's spark.

"Wouldn't that be a plot twist?" he mused. It wasn't the way of it tonight. Tonight had been an very fine combination of alcohol and not trying very hard. Eterna might've beaten him even at his best of course, but it could've been a much more difficult battle. "But, no really. Allison got more points with a few words than I did for playing most of them game. Is there even a chance for us to beat you at this point?" He observed the tiles with a dubious eye.

"I don't think there is a point, sir." She sighed, looking at the tiles over and over - Eterna definitely had them beat at this point, and she sat back against him again, half smiling at the way it felt. "Should we stop?"

"If you use all 7 letters on 2 triple word scores you might have a slight chance?" Eterna chuckled "Do you admit defeat?" she asked Emerson as she poured herself another glass of blood.

She had quite enjoyed the evening so far and hoped that it hadn't come to an end so soon.

"It's fine!" Emerson replied with a wave of his hand. He didn't mind losing. Never had, unless the stakes were particularly high, and all that was relative anyhow. "You think I come here to win?" He grinned at Allison broadly. "You were a big help, though. Usually I give up by the third time I try to use dickwaffle as a word."

He turned his charming smile toward Eterna. "May I formally admit my defeat, my lady," he offered with an extravagant flourish. "I am beaten, and not in the fun way, yet again."

Allison was still disappointed that they hadn't won, but said nothing, though frowned at the thought that Emerson would be leaving - she didn't generally see people other than Eterna or her other slaves, and to find a supernatural that didn't constantly piss her off... It was a miracle.

"Are you going?"

Eterna chuckled as Emerson admitted his defeat "Don't give me ideas" she smiled, wondering how Emerson would react to a bit of light beating. Would he still call it fun then, she wondered.

Emerson laughed again with Eterna's comment, leaning forward as he set to the loser's task of cleaning up the Scrabble board.

"I don't have to head out just yet," he answered Allison, not thinking that he might've wanted to hold off on clearing the table seeing as how Eterna might've tasked her slave to do it. "Not unless Eterna here kicks me out or breaks out the riding crop, apparently."
